I just spoke to the ISP and was informed that all looked good with my FOID but 60 business days still had a couple of weeks. I told her I counted the days on the calendar and said that 60 business days was January 1. I also mentioned that my wifes renewal was submitted the same day and was told 50 more submittals may have happened between our renewals. I didnt remember that mine was submitted first. I have to assume they got a week off for Thanksgiving and a week off for Christmas. Either way, the phone call may speed up the approval. We will see. FOID like the CCL does not expire IF you have renewed before the expire date. Keep a copy of the renewal with you just in case. All will be well our new friend, Welcome to the forums. Scroll thru the threads about this same subject and the reading will assist you greatly. The timelines seem to vary but most are getting a straight up FOID in 60 to 80 days with out hitches. Second line in my post says to use the ISP transfer page! And I didnt say to have them use nics. They have a direct portal and can see and use the transfer page, if there should question the card being valid!

From previous posts the FOID doesn’t expire IF you renewed before the expire date. One way to check the validity of the FOID is to use the transfer part of the ISP web site. The gun range can also look at this free m heir computers for the way they get approval for a firearm sale! Most, but not all stores/ranges know this just as the law enforcement knows about the ccl too.

Shocking, a FOID taking more than 30 days! More shocking, no penalty for not following the law! And the MOST shocking, the Peoples Republic of Illinois using taxes, fees, funds for other than stated needs! But on a serious note: This is already in here more than 27 times...........

Most renewals are taking at least 90 days out as far as asking who can help to speed up the process..... No One, there is NO penalty for taking their sweet time. And by the time you get a rep involved the time will be up and the cards will show up! Then and only then can you say that the power of any rep in Illinois is absolute......LOL

Why would he change his name by adding ONLY to both letters? This reminds me of that thread some guy had a name which had sounds and only 3 letters for the full name! That thread went of for months as he couldn’t tell us what the name was or the exact initials were. But I’ve now gone of track, sorry.

They are more concerned with you having the DL/ID This way they have a picture to match it to Other stuff like DOB full name etc are what matters most Some of us have varying weights across different ID’s, no issue Put what ever color your hair in in the FOID app and get it in, and then keep those fingers crossed for a 60 return The state is behind and isn’t in any hurry to get caught up soon Good Luck and Welcome to the forums

You say years ago? Then have your FRIEND set up a new account since they have changed the process for accounts since years ago! Your FRIEND will use a new username and password but it all should come up and show his or her stuff. If not, create the new online profile and start the process all over again. Since it says waiting on payment there was never a processing of the application. Good Luck And Welcome to the forums

Hi guys More than having the paper work for the FOID, if the FOID is the renewal issue. You need to have the statute where in it states that you no longer need to carry both the FOID and CCL either when carrying a firearm or not. And if you have the CCL on you it is sufficient for ammo, firearm and anything else the FOID would be needed for! So if showing your CCL isn’t enough for the clerks and managers, I’d be sure to let them know that you won’t be back until they start following the laws..... Plus you were correct, better to purchase from the LGS than give the big box boys anything anymore!

Browsing back through FOID times and posts, some have been taking up to 120 days. Lots of guys here been a little more than pe od at the state for sure. Bottom line they always show up, just not as fast as we want!

Yeah I might be wrong but I was thinking about renewals During renewal the cards are still active, my bad. But it’s still going to be a wait, it’s Illinois......
