Tango7 Posted July 9, 2013 at 02:13 AM Share Posted July 9, 2013 at 02:13 AM I cross posted this on another forum but figured this is one of the few times that Godfather Cullerton has allowed any kind of input from us lowly subjects on CCW at all. Most of us know the drill - here's the link to put it to use. As some of you may be aware, we finally, and only under threat from the 7th Circuit, got a CCW bill passed in IL. In the spirit of compromise it must be a great bill, because nobody is truly happy with it. http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/smiley_abused.gif Tomorrow is the "drop dead" date, and our esteemed (D) hack in charge (Governor Quinn) used his Amendatory Veto powers to change what was already a not great bill into a steaming pile of excrement. He added the following in the name of "public safety":He limited CCW holders to carrying only one gun, only one magazine and no more than 10 rounds of ammo total. He mandated that instead of posting places where carry is prohibited, a property owner must post where carry would be allowed - everywhere else would be automatically a prohibited area.He Added a step for local PD's to call the ISP to begin the revocation process for FOID or CCW holders,He criminalized the accidental showing of a holstered firearm or any portion thereofHe mandated declaration of CCW to LEHe opened the board meetings to the Open Meetings Act, meaning that while the names and addresses of FOID holders may be safe, anyone with a CCW would become a matter of public record, and thus a candidate for authorized journalistic harrassment of 2A supporters "Investigative journalism in the interest of public safety"He expanded the ban where alcohol is served to take away restaurant carryHe removed the prohibition of future local level AWB's.Please - help us out by following this link: CLICK ME TO FILE A WITNESS SLIP Complete the information. Name, address and e-mail are self explanatory.Under "firm, business or agency" you can put "NA" if you wish, but I've seen "gun owners', "law abiding citizens" and other things.Under "representing" you can put NA, or "law abiding citizen", "out of state residents". My fave was "p(eeved) off 51st ward resident" http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/icon_smile_big.gif Select the following: Original Bill - No position on merits (it's a public utilities act) SFA 2 - OPPONENT Make sure you click on the radio button, as they can be tempermental. The last time we called a witness slip firemission was for a magazine ban proposed by one of the Chicago (D)himmocrats. The total was 1800 against, 17 supporting. http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/anim_devil.gif Give us a hand in breaking down the last wall between Illinois residents and CCW! Ranger Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:13 AM Share Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:13 AM I'm impressed hat we added 150 between midnight and six a.m. On my ipad, it kept wanting to click the proponent circle. Had to try several times. I wonder if that happened to some of the "proponents".
C0untZer0 Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:20 AM Share Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:20 AM Why is it HB 11 instead of HB 183 ? EDIT: Oh never mind, I read in the other thread that the changes to 183 were put in a bill form. Craig Celia is a proponent?
