Chris, it's an AOW b/c of the vfg. I've had it with arguing if IL allows AOW's. Technically they do but no one will sign off on the paperwork. Therefore, IMHO, they obviously aren't "welcome" in IL so it's a ban by proxy if you can't find a CLEO to sign the paperwork.

Anybody seen the newest Brady for Gov ad?? Very positive, talks about making the state better, a new beginning. Not a negative attack on Quinn or the Dems. Very refreshing. You'd think that the general public would be tired of the mud slinging and negativism from Quinn's side by now. I hope he just keeps digging the hole.

While I agree with those that feel that Brady shouldn't be attacking with his 2A stance, seems to me he could take advantage of this blatantly misleading crap!!

I think we need an ad using the same video only telling how Quinn wouldn't lets us concel carry to defend ourselves againt a criminal (early released,thank you very much ,Pat)with this gun

Perhaps an independant ad (that don't even mention Brady) showing a woman trying to ward off and attack with a cell phone and then a message stating that Quinn prefers this woman beat, tortured and raped rather than allowing her the proper tool to defend herself (CCW)!

I can't wait to hear that becaue the only Brady ads I've heard so far you don't even know who the heck they're supporting until 2 minutes into the damn thing cause it's filled with Quinn this and Quinn that. Drives me up a freaking wall that "conservative" canidates sink to that level. I don't want to hear your opponents name one gosh damn time in your ad. I don't care what he did or didn't do I want to know what YOU ARE GOING TO DO! You shouldn't have to point out others flaws in order for your qualities to shine through.

Yes ... but the target audience for that add has no idea they are already banned. And that's the "beauty" of such ads.

 

Maybe that kind of ad calls for LTE's, ya think, rather than Sen Brady responding?

Governor Quinn’s latest campaign ad, on YouTube Video, uses the same ploy as that of Kathy Ryg in her campaign lit in 2006, and that of Naomi Jakobsson the same year.

 

Methodology: show a picture of a firearm banned in Illinois, a firearm capable of select fire (firing multiple cartridges with one “squeeze” of the trigger), a firearm not available to buy, possess, transport, or sell, in Illinois, and a firearm available in most other states only after applying for, and receiving a special permit from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, said permit costing $300.00, renewable yearly at that same cost; then, imply the availability of such a firearm to Illinois residents and suggest that the opponent supports that availability.

 

Pretty sneaky method, but only those that have absolutely no knowledge of firearms or the laws regulating such are susceptible!

 

eta: might add: "Unfortunately, in the northeastern IL urban areas, that might be a lot of people!"

What I don't like about Quinn's advertisement attacking Bill Brady is that the featured gun and style of gun are almost never used in crime. Why the bait-and-switch? It seems Quinn's campaign is educating us that if that style of gun were banned that crime would go way, way down. If Quinn is going to make the streets safe, shouldn't he attack guns that are commonly used to kill people... such as popular handguns? Why does he attack guns that almost nobody owns? Is Quinn simply against the peoples right to have even 1 gun for personal self-defense in the home?

Howard...Come on... You should know by now that anti-gunners always use deception and lies to further their agenda. They find the scariest looking gun they can and show it while lamenting that citizens shouldn't be able to own them. I'm surprised they didn't find an M60 made in semi-auto configuration. That would look even scarier..... to a person that is deathly afraid of certain inanimate items, such as legal firearms.

Thanks. Youtube's general policy of allowing only comments where every third word is misspelled can make reading them frustrating at times. And don't get me started on the way Youtube prefers comments written by people with the maturity level of a fetus.

It depends on where you look... I actually find some very good discussion on youtube. Its like a bar - there's all kinds out there.

 

Of course, since you mentioned spelling, Pat Quinn's original video has "Illinois" misspelled (or type-o'd). I thought of pointing it out with comment "Quinn cant even spell Illinois, let alone run it", but I'm not the best speller in the world either - plus I think it was a type-o.

Congrats guys!! You made it to the big time!!! Read the comments, for the most part, Quinn is getting blasted for his apparent ingorance of what is legal or not. From the efforts of our members here, BULLSHI! has been called and the uninitiated are paying attention. We can make a difference. We WILL make a difference in this election and it will show next January!!
