ChrisS Posted May 11, 2014 at 04:31 PM Share Posted May 11, 2014 at 04:31 PM Perhaps a silly question:Planning on getting my fingerprints done. Last week at work I got myself a small blood blister on my pinky. It's off to the side but I'm sure it'll show up in the prints. Is this an issue or a non-issue?Thanks! Trevis Posted May 11, 2014 at 06:16 PM Share Posted May 11, 2014 at 06:16 PM I have a wart on a finger or two. Want an issue. I still don't really understand what fingerprints do for someone that has never been printed before, but I paid the fees, and will hopefully get my permission slip soon
Pipedoc Posted May 11, 2014 at 06:19 PM Share Posted May 11, 2014 at 06:19 PM The fingerprinting is all about the government getting your fingerprints in the system. Nothing more.

WtJen Posted May 12, 2014 at 02:29 AM Share Posted May 12, 2014 at 02:29 AM This is why they do all the fingers and not just one. I have a nice scar on my thumb which wasn't there when I first got printed by the military. They know its you from the other fingers.

Trevis Posted May 12, 2014 at 03:28 AM Share Posted May 12, 2014 at 03:28 AM $ Might wanna do something about those warts, ya dirty *******! $ Meh, they're not bad. I used to cut them out myself, but I play guitar, and it's not worth not having that hand usable. I had plantar warts, too, but they all went away at once. It was like getting new feet. Actually, nearly everyone has the virus, I just happen to have them on my hands.
terryei Posted May 12, 2014 at 01:11 PM Share Posted May 12, 2014 at 01:11 PM non event. If the finger is sore the finger print vendor can mark the finger as bandaged and not print it. There is also a setting for amputated. I printed a guy with only 6 of 10 fingers. He got his permit.

What do you think the prints are for? Do you think they are actually used in the background check?
