Tuesday is election day for our village trustees and village president. Beverly "for the children" Sussman is running for reelection for village president against Mike Terson. For those that don't recall, Mike Terson did not vote for the Assault weapons ban in Buffalo Grove while Beverly "for the children" Sussman voted FOR IT. Let make sure we all turn out and vote so we can vote her out of office!

I have NOT forgotten Beverly "for the children" Sussman and have been plenty vocal with my fellow BG friends about not voting for her. I was sitting in the front row that fateful evening of the vote and was stunned at her stupidity.

I gave the commentary about they might have the authority but not the right...

 

I remember even though we all knew we were getting the shaft by that point there was a roll of laughter at her remark because it was so cliched.

 

And then at the end they rushed all of the trustees into some "safe room" to get them away from the mad savage gun owners.

Actually, not much to tell. My family and I were over at one of our friends house (our kids and theirs are friends). One of their kids friends is friends with Carolyn's daughter. Her daughter just happened to be over that night. Carolyn came to pick her up at their house and came in the house. I didn't know who she was when I met her (I was only told her first name) until after the fact. A few weeks later I was talking about the new MOM's chapter that opened in Buffalo Grove and told her the group leaders full name. She told me that was the woman I met her at our friends house. If only I would have known that at the time. Ever since then I have been waiting to meet her again so I can have a "discussion" with her. I doubt it would do any good because these people don't care about facts, but I would at least like to get my say so in.

Get out and make sure to vote. Turnout is low at these elections (about 100 total for the day at my polling place on the Cook county side at 1:00). A chance to make a difference.

 

Terson over Sussman

 

No Pinta

 

I read the suburban trib interview with the others (no 2nd discussed) but felt Kobler, Pike and Widenfeld were the safest.

Bad news, Sussman won, but not by much.

 

Sussman 51.6% 2314

Terson 48.3% 2163

 

 

But at least Pinta did not make it. Only top 3 are in

 

Smith 1880

Pike Jr 1733

Weidenfeld 1639

Lee 1623

Pinta 1554

 

 

Pinta getting in would have been worse than Sussman getting reelected.

Poor Pinta. I would trash her on Facebook, but I don’t have an account. Oh well

My wife even knew about and was turned off over Pinta for non gun related issues.

 

Her daughter is gay, I believe middle school, and Pinta has seemingly been using her like some kind of LGBTQ "stage mom." We have gay people in our immediate family and couldn't care less about that, but Pinta seemed to be gloaming on to it for her own personal profile to show how super woke she is in public campaigns. In an area where being gay is likely as controversial as having blue as your favorite color. We would support any of out kids if they came out, but we wouldn't use them as some sort of progressive roadshow in the community--look at her... but really look at ME!

Nice work. That corner of Lake County appears to be Bloomie's foothold in Illinois to do CA/NY style gun control. Everyone from State Reps, to mayors, to the IL-10 Congressman are Demanding. Beyond the gun issue, if unopposed they'll flip Lake into another Cook.

 

I can't say it's at all surprising but that is where the battle need be fought.
