Tvandermyde Posted January 10, 2011 at 08:28 PM Posted January 10, 2011 at 08:28 PM With all the talk about Sara Palin and her crosshairs on a website I wonder if they will change their attacks or mention how they have used them against lawmakers? naw. I can't grab a screen capture of this but someone might want to: http://www.gunguys.com/?p=3212 For my examiner friends, I know I have a real copy of this at home in a file somewhere, but I found it on the web with a quick search. so pass this far and wide......
Tvandermyde Posted January 10, 2011 at 08:34 PM Author Posted January 10, 2011 at 08:34 PM more..... they also did this against Rep. Cole Brady Campaign Announces Plans To Hold Legislators Accountable For Votes<H2></H2>Oct 14, 2008 Chicago, IL - The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence today announced they are targeting state legislators who voted against sensible gun laws and electing candidates who will work to pass sensible gun laws to keep dangerous weapons out of the hands of dangerous people. Brian Malte of the Brady Campaign was joined by Chicago 2nd Ward Alderman Bob Fioretti, 33rd Ward Alderman Richard F. Mell, gun violence survivor Willie Williams and Cook County State’s Attorney Richard A. Devine at Crane High School in Chicago to announce plans for holding Illinois state legislators accountable on the gun issue in this year’s elections. The Brady Campaign announced that its first target for defeat is Rep. Dennis Reboletti in State House District 46 who voted “no” on the Brady Campaign’s top legislative priority to require Brady criminal background checks on each handgun sold. The Brady Campaign is targeting his district with an initial 10,000-piece mailing and phone call campaign to voters in his district. The 10,000 postcards were mailed to voters today. The Brady Campaign has endorsed Reboletti’s opponent, Gary Nowak. Speakers at the event spoke of the need to have accountability from legislators in order to enact stronger gun laws at the state level to help stop the gun violence plaguing Chicago and other communities. “In just this last week, a 13-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were killed by gun violence on our city's streets,” said Richard A. Devine, Cook County State's Attorney. “Earlier this year an Elmhurst woman was stalked and shot to death. Enacting a state law to require criminal background checks on each handgun purchase will give us another tool to limit the number of guns on our streets and stem this carnage in our community." "The lack of stronger statewide gun laws has contributed greatly to the seemingly endless supply of illegal guns in Chicago,” said Alderman Richard F. Mell of Chicago’s 33rd Ward. “The City of Chicago is calling on our elected officials to enact strong state gun laws to stop illegal gun trafficking and to stop the gun violence." "The gun violence in Chicago must stop. We are tired of seeing our children being shot and killed and we need solutions,” said Alderman Bob Fioretti of Chicago’s 2nd Ward. “We must hold accountable those legislators who are standing in the way of enacting strong state gun laws.” The Brady Campaign has been raising funds to target legislators who voted against sensible gun laws in the last session of the Illinois legislature. In particular, the Brady Campaign is targeting legislators in the Chicago suburbs who voted against HB 758, sponsored by Rep. Harry Osterman, which would have extended Brady criminal background checks to all handgun purchasers. The bill lost by two votes last April. "Too many people are sitting on the sidelines afraid to get involved,” said Willie Williams of the Willie Williams III Youth Foundation. “We need everyone to stand up and stop the guns from coming into our neighborhoods. Without our youth, there is no future." The Brady Campaign will be announcing other expenditures in the coming days. GarandFan Posted January 10, 2011 at 08:42 PM Posted January 10, 2011 at 08:42 PM on 8 Jan 11, Helmke said: Sarah Palin used gun targets and metaphors encouraging voters to defeat Rep. Giffords and others. The horror! And they used gun targets in 2008. But now, it helps their cause to denounce these acts. They are beyond shame. They are only desperate to win.

Bird76Mojo Posted January 11, 2011 at 11:13 AM Posted January 11, 2011 at 11:13 AM can we get together and send out 20,000 post cards? That sounds like a great idea! If only there was a way to get that address list that the Brady cards got mailed out to. Talk some real statistics and sense into those people that will otherwise get duped by the Brady campaign and their idiotic "reasoning."

You've got a smiley face there, so you're probably joking, but... After the Tucson story broke, I ended up on Democratic Underground as I was employing my Google-Fu. I have to say from the comments I saw, I was honestly scared (as in no sh*t, no joke, for real scared) by some of the threads and comments that I saw. Some of these people are most definitely, certifiably, <insert expletive here> nuts. Even anonymously, I cannot believe what some people put online. I think that if more of the liberal leaning folks saw what the people driving the agenda actually thought, they probably would not go full tilt conservative, but would definitely drift over towards being a little more moderate.

I have to say from the comments I saw, I was honestly scared (as in no sh*t, no joke, for real scared) by some of the threads and comments that I saw. I think that if more of the liberal leaning folks saw what the people driving the agenda actually thought, they probably would not go full tilt conservative, but would definitely drift over towards being a little more moderate. Most of the first responses from the left that I saw after the shooting were along the lines of "another conservative shooter" or "there goes the tea part shooting at people again". Well, lets look at a little history here. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth who was a Democrat, angry that Lincoln had freed the slaves and preserved the Union. Before you say "well, the parties have changed a lot since then". Lets see, back then Dems wanted to keep slaves dependent upon their masters for survival. Now, Dems/Libs want to keep blacks dependant on the government, from helping themselves by providing as many handouts as they can. The more dependent on the government people are, the more they will support those handouts. An attempt on Harry S Truman by Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola who were members of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party. Puerto Rican Nationalists, represented by Marxist terrorist groups such as FALN, who were responsible for scores of bombings in the U.S.; they were arguably the most active terrorist group in U.S. history. Interesting side notes: President Carter freed Collazo in 1979, and President Clinton pardoned several FALN terrorists. When JFK was killed, the left immediately jumped out to lay blame squarely on the right, only to be publicly embarrassed when it ended up being what we would call an extreme leftist (marxist/communist). Samuel Byck tried to kill Nixon. Byck "began to harbor the belief that the government was conspiring to oppress the poor." He attempted to join the Black Panthers. Sounds like he might have been on the left. I think they tried to paint him as a conservative at first as well. Sara Jane Moore tried to kill Pres. Ford. She was a revolutionary leftist political activist. So, why, again, when this psycho tried to kill a congresswoman, did the left immediately jump out and yell "Another psycho righty strikes again!" When you look at the history of political assassination attempts in the U.S., remove the batsh*t crazy's, you will find more left wing oriented assassins than right wing, by a large margin. EDIT: I am not blaming the left for this attempt. His friends say he was a liberal, but overall he was nuts and that is what brought this about, not left or right politics.
Xwing Posted January 17, 2011 at 03:59 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 03:59 PM The left doesn't care about facts or the truth. The liberal MSM just wants to continue to paint both conservatives and firearms in a bad light. You'll see no mention in the MSM about the fact that the crazy murderer was liberal. No, they'd rather obfuscate the truth and just contunue to to after anything they disagree with.
