kwc Posted February 26, 2015 at 12:17 AM Posted February 26, 2015 at 12:17 AM Per ISP's response to my FOIA request, as of yesterday, 98,987 CCLs have been issued to residents and 10 to non-residents. See table below. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/25/e53154d8e1f18a696be542dad7a797bb.jpg
OrlandInstructor Posted February 26, 2015 at 01:35 AM Posted February 26, 2015 at 01:35 AM Thanks for the update
ChicagoRonin70 Posted February 26, 2015 at 01:44 AM Posted February 26, 2015 at 01:44 AM Based on these numbers, after the first 55 days of the year, the projected total issued licenses will be 139,827, which is slightly below my projection of 142,955 from the official total CCL thread. I expect it will pick up slightly, and over the course of the year make up for the deficit, which is currently about 8.5 fewer licenses per day than I estimated would be issued. Right now, narcoden, at 137,000, F12Mahon, at 142,368, pdpsc at 136,868, 1911 .45 at 137,777, bigdudez25 at 138,544 are closer, but I have faith in my predictive statistical modeling, in which I took into account a slow beginning to the year. A thousand rounds of .22 ammo shall be mine, I swear to Math!
Trevis Posted February 26, 2015 at 03:04 AM Posted February 26, 2015 at 03:04 AM I wonder how many non-residents tried to apply but couldn't because of the may issue scheme in practice for the other states...

(Edited): Of the four allowed states, only one (Hawaii) is "may issue." The other three have "shall issue" policies in place. It's hard to say how many Hawaii residents attempted to apply and were turned away due to the prerequisite to possess a carry permit from Hawaii. I know of no way to track that.

Xwing Posted February 26, 2015 at 09:28 PM Posted February 26, 2015 at 09:28 PM Very interesting to see a total of 10 non-res permits granted. I'm not surprised though. SC, VA, and NM aren't exactly close. (And it's rumored that there aren't actually any HI residents with permits outside of LEO.) Probably not a lot of residents of those states who regularly travel to Illinois and want to pay $300. Now if they would open it up for IN, WI and MO, it would be a very different story.

I see a lot of Virginia license plates in my neighborhood. I also have a chaplain 2 doors down that is a resident of New Mexico and very pro 2A. He keeps his firearms at his CO's home in Wisconsin because he doesn't want to register them with the base and also risk being in violation of Highland Park's AWB.
bw200 Posted February 27, 2015 at 12:33 AM Posted February 27, 2015 at 12:33 AM I have it on good authority that as a show of understanding of the frustration experienced by out of state applicants waiting to apply, that Illinois is considering adding the territories of Guam and the Marshal Islands to the approved list.
OrlandInstructor Posted February 27, 2015 at 12:56 AM Posted February 27, 2015 at 12:56 AM 4 Virginia residents have attended my classes. They have family that live in Illinois.

Too funny, and therefore likely to be true!

What about Johnston Atoll?
kwc Posted February 28, 2015 at 01:59 AM Author Posted February 28, 2015 at 01:59 AM What about Johnston Atoll? Are you disappointed the Navy no longer has a base there? Scratch that one off your list.
