JTHunter Posted June 17, 2022 at 05:41 PM Share Posted June 17, 2022 at 05:41 PM Having looked here and at my local library, I have not been able to narrow down to specific statutes that pertain to the wearing of firearms on your own private property. I am asking as I have a nice leather rig that I am trying to get "broken in" so it is somewhat softer and more flexible without the use of too much oils or waxes. I'm asking as I want to wear this rig with the revolver in the holster so the leather "shapes" to the gun more and this will necessitate wearing the rig outside while I go between the house and polebarn. I am NOT in city limits but in an unincorporated part of the county but there are other houses in close proximity. If any of you can help me find at least the pertinent ILCS chapters where I am likely to find these statutes, I would appreciate it very much. mauserme Posted June 17, 2022 at 05:54 PM Share Posted June 17, 2022 at 05:54 PM (edited) Search the Unlawful Use of Weapons statute for the phrase "except when on his land". The first match exempts firearms that are concealed and the second, firearms that are not concealed. ETA Beat by milliseconds.
