Hello Molly, I had my FOID/CCL revoked due to a criminal case for possession. The case has now been dismissed and I was discharged and given the court order paperwork stating such. How do I go about submitting my appeal to reinstate my FOID? Also how long does the ISP have to address my appeal and make a final decision if you may know? Thanks again as always!

Yes the order of protection was done in civil court not criminal court. However the order was granted based on the criminal court charges even though the case was still pending smh. The judge in civil court said that she believed the charges in criminal court were probably true but really she was biased from the start. I was found not guilty of the crime in criminal court and the judge at civil court still did not want to reverse the order of protection even after i showed proof of being found not guilty in trail by a judge. Smh. Like what kind of system of this that we have here in crook county? Either way, the order already expired in May 2019, now ISP is saying that i failed to sign this one particular paper in my appeal, and oh by the way you also have a warrant from 2009 in idaho for misdemeanor solicitation. U think u can give their police dept call and squash that over the phone possibly? I mean seriously?! Like come on ISP you guys couldnt come up with anything at all other than this little thing from 2009 from a whole other state thats not violent or shows any mental ilness or threat to society?

Hey guys..so i was given my CCL back in 2017. It was approved and all. I got it in the mail. However i ended up having it revoked due to a false arrest. I was found not guilty for the crime i was charged with but my license stayed revoked for 2yrs bc of a order of protection that i couldnt stop bc i didnt have a lawyer for the order of protection court like i did for the criminal case court. . Even though i was found not guilty of the crime. Long story short. Isp knows i was found not guilty. Now they are coming up with all kind of random reasons i do not qualify for my license back. The most recent reasons was sent from ISP to me in a email!! Not even on paper. They emailed me saying that one of the forms in my foid appeal wasnt signed lol. So i signed the form and emailed it back. Then they said that i had a misdemeanor warrant out of idaho state from 2009!!! For solicitation without a sales license!! I paid 25$ back then to bond out and i left the state bc i lived in chicago at the time not idaho. Long story. My point is, its still none violent. Its from 2009. And its out of state. It has nothing to do with my mental state. Or with me being a threat to society. Then there email said ohh you could probably just call idaho state police and squash this warrant over the phone?! Ok so why are you guys holding this warrant over my head if i can simply call idaho police over the phone to fix it?? Isp likes to play games with peoples lives and rights. They didnt even mail me a official letter saying all of this. They emailed me these reasons. How crazy is that. A form that i failed to sign when i sent my appeal and now apparently this out of state warrant from 2009 for door to door sales without a valid license is stopping me from getting my license back lol. Its just a big joke this state.

If i lose my firearm to cpd inventory as "abandoned property" bc isp took too long "reviewing" my appeal when i havea criminal court order saying for cpd to return my firearm, isp will not even reemburst that firearm loss. Smdh -

Wow. Thats so sad of a situation. I also have the CPD telling me that if my firearm is not claimed in a timely manner than i risk having it forfeited by the inventory on S Homan st in chicago. Now i have a court signed order saying i am not a threat and the order of protection being over i would expect the same urgency to return my rights as they used to take away them. -

Does it say 'appeal under review' or just 'under review' Hi MollyB, it says appeal under review -

Thats what i was thinking about also. I remember when it was first revoked and suspended it wouldn't show those options to renew report lost or stolen. Now that part changed but it changed over a week ago and still under review like come on you guys! I have a court order for the return of my firearm from a criminal court judge and the end of the order of protection wrongfully entered against me -

Any ideas on timeline for foid/ccl appeal due to suspension/revocation? License suspended for court order of protection. Protection expired may 23,2019. Filed appeal a week before order expired. I can see online that the options to renew/report lost/or stolen for your cards are avilable which i used to not see but still says under review. Does that mean its about to be reset to active or something? Thanks!! -
Hi fellow members. Molly B..i was wrongfully charged with a crime i did not commit by someone who acted maliciously towards me. I was found not guilty of the crime in criminal court however the person was able to attain a order of protection against me prior to my not guilty verdict. This order of protection lead to my rovocation of my CCL/foid for the 2yr duration of the order. The state police refused to renew my ccl/foid though i was found not guilty and was given a court order demanding the return of my firearms and foid. They also refused to release my firearms to a thrid party who had his own valid foid/ccl to store at his home until the end of my 2yr SNCO. Now that my order is coming to a close on May 23 2019, after 2 yrs of waiting for my rights back. What are my options for making sure my FOID and firearms are returned to me as the court order stated that the state police return my inventoried items to me? Can i demand that they return my firearm to me now? Or to a person of my choosing with a valid FOID card? I have heard of the state police "losing" peoples inventory and such at the last minute and so forth. I have already been found not guilty for the very same crime that led to this order of protection against me and just want to make sure my rights and belongings are returned. Thankyou

Ok. I appreciate the info. If anyone else may by chance know about carrying with a FOID in a apartment I would love the help. I knew the cops were lieing about me being able to take my firearm to a friend's house as long as I transport it properly. But as far as while on my apartment porch is what I really need to know. Also if anyone may know of a good lawyer I would appreciate the info as well. Thankyou to all for any and all help.

I wanted to know if I can open/conceal carry while sitting on my front porch to my apartment? It's a dangerous neighborhood with MANY driveby shootings.but I do not want to stay in the house in my own neighborhood afraid of soneone trying to shoot me. However, police have told me I can not carry concealed or open on my porch. They actually told me I can not take my firearm anywhere except for a shooting range. And that I can not take it to a friend's house and carry there or even just bring it there at all. I really need to know the truth because I know cops lie. I live in a two flat apartment. With a pretty big front porch that I like to sit on and read or just watch as my kids play outfront.
