Ocellairs Posted April 25, 2005 at 02:10 PM Posted April 25, 2005 at 02:10 PM I am looking for this week to be action packed. I will send reports in whenever I can. Tuesday or Wednesday I expect HB2414, HB1098, and HB990 to be called. I know the other side will call them if they have the votes. I have heard they will be called on Tuesday. That means Monday and Tuesday are the most important days for you, the membership, to call their repersentatives. Be polite... Remember, you're going to be talking to office staff who are there to take down the details of your call. We will have bills HB0053, HB0057, HB2103, and HB2104 called in House Ag & Conservation. I expect these bills to pass to the floor of the House. I will alert everyone when that happens. Once they go to Second reading we should start calling. If we call to soon many on the House members will not know what we are talking about because they know nothing of the bills. The window here could be very short so everyone will have to ready. I would make sure everyone checks their email every day--maybe a couple times a day. I am asking all members to forward the updates to everyone as soon as they get them. They in turn should do the same thing. I will send action steps as soon as we determine what they should be. Right now please make calls opposing HB2414, HB1098, and HB990. Concentrate on House members only. This is kind of like a battle field so things are going to be fluid. Adjustments are to be expected. Reminder, the phone numbers for all Illinois Representatives are listed here: http://www.isra.org/legislation/representatives.html Richard Pearson,ISRA Executive Director

ilphil Posted April 25, 2005 at 11:01 PM Posted April 25, 2005 at 11:01 PM Just emailed my Rep thanking her for past support and telling her I don't think these bills serves the interests of the people of this district. Let's cross our fingers, pray, and trust that when push comes to shove a majority will stand up to the pressure of King Richard and his lackeys.

Snail, which is too late now would have been. Phone calls.....phone calls.....phone calls, get their attention....as well as faxes. If I can find a place to fax letters tomorrow...I'll be burning the lines up.

One good reason to still have a modem......in addition to backup in case the broadband goes south. If using windows, install the built in fax that works like a soft printer.

I need more info on how to set something like this up. I have Verizon broadband which through a Westtell router.I also have a modem installed. My broadband is ran through the 10/100 slot. I have installed Windows XP Fax program. I know it works cause, a few weeks ago after installation, I got a fax ring and an alert from Norton that someone was trying to break in. Untill I figured out what was going on...it got really hairy around here.
