She didn't recognize them and didn't respond. After a few minutes they left...no notes, no ads, no fliers...Wonder if that was my visit???

I'll bet you missed your chance to be even more of a celebrity!!! They'll probably report you as "on the run", maybe you should call the ISP and turn yourself in!! You wouldn't have sent any faxes disagreeing with the "honorable gentleman" (loose use of the term) would you??? AB

I think he was referring to this thread. He's right Gunny, I had pasted the ISRA release into the message I had started before I noticed it in another thread, when I saw it was a duplicate, I took it out of my thread. Sorry for the confusion. AB
LPD5408 Posted June 21, 2007 at 01:31 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 01:31 AM When I first read the ISRA release I was sickened. Hearing about this stuff is sickening and frightning. If Senator Katowski recieved threatning emails or faxes I would not have a problem. If some F Tard sent him aletter saying that he wanted to do bodily harm to the Senator I would join the ISP and find the person responsible. As a citizen of this state and of this country I have every right to voice my concerns to the ELECTED officials. I can write, email, call, visit( only during hours of convience to ELECTED official) and fax to my hearts content. I have the Right to Bear Arms. I have the Right to Life Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness, and the Right to protect my a**. I have the Right to Peacfull Assembly and the Right to address those who wish to violate my Rights. Sorry for the rant. I just became involved in the fight recently and already have become disgusted with the Politics. Also dont hold this action by the ISP against other COPS. ISP are not COPS.
raiven Posted June 21, 2007 at 01:32 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 01:32 AM well i was listing to richard pearson of the isra he says abought 500 people got visted by the isp using the menatl health card on people scaring them into not sending faxes and calls to Senator Kotowski saying they are bad mouthing him with threats but none was found and he wont or cant produce them.
Blaster Posted June 21, 2007 at 01:40 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 01:40 AM well i was listing to richard pearson of the isra he says abought 500 people got visted by the isp using the menatl health card on people scaring them into not sending faxes and calls to Senator Kotowski saying they are bad mouthing him with threats but none was found and he wont or cant produce them. I heard that there was 1 that was visited that had sent a fax. He was asked about his mental health. That one we know for sure. And there may be a few more. Richard was on a local radio show talking about this today. I did not hear anything about 500 people being visited.
oneshot Posted June 21, 2007 at 01:56 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 01:56 AM hmm, could this be a thinly veiled threat to get a court to declare a gun owner a "threat to self or others" and thus ineligible to own a firearm under the new soon-to-be-law? The plot thickens... well i was listing to richard pearson of the isra he says abought 500 people got visted by the isp using the menatl health card on people scaring them into not sending faxes and calls to Senator Kotowski saying they are bad mouthing him with threats but none was found and he wont or cant produce them.
raiven Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:11 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:11 AM he was on the nra show anyone can listen to it it was aired yeterday but can hear it agin it was mentioned by the radio show host and mr pearson.
Molly B. Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:28 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:28 AM Cam said the Illinois person who sent the fax will be coming up in this segment. Go to www.nra.org
Blaster Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:45 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:45 AM WoW. They did go to 500 homes. Tom Warchols Senator Altoff told him this information.
45superman Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:47 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:47 AM WoW. They did go to 500 homes. He said it was Senator Althoff told him that it was 500, right? We need to ask her about that, I think.

We need to ask her about that, I think. That's what I heard, more than once, Senator Althoff said there were over 500 homes visited. I'm surprised that more haven't shown up here. This has got to be used to our advantage somehow!! AB
45superman Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:55 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 02:55 AM Nobody from Senator Althoff's district has chimed in here--it would be nice to have a constituent of hers to approach her about this.
Steve R Posted June 21, 2007 at 03:05 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 03:05 AM All I can say after all I've read and heard here is that the K.G.B. has come to IL.

45superman Posted June 21, 2007 at 03:27 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 03:27 AM I have to admit, I'm starting to get a little curious as to whether or not my FAX to Commissar Senator Kotowski yesterday will bring the ISP to my door. I was, of course, extremely careful to come across as utterly non-threatening (even to a panicky little sissy-boy Senator) as possible, but I don't know if that will be enough.
MARKHOLSTRUM Posted June 21, 2007 at 03:38 AM Posted June 21, 2007 at 03:38 AM I seriously think that the ISRA needs to team up with the NRA and ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice, not to be confused with the ACLU) and sue the snot out of anyone involved in this oh yea one more thing <---liberty OR death. I'm not giving in
anonymous too Posted June 21, 2007 at 05:36 PM Posted June 21, 2007 at 05:36 PM 500 people. I don't even know what to say or where to start. I'm very rarely at a loss for words.
SmershAgent Posted June 21, 2007 at 06:42 PM Posted June 21, 2007 at 06:42 PM 500 people. I don't even know what to say or where to start. I'm very rarely at a loss for words. One of the things this tells me is that gun owners in IL are getting less complacent. This means that at least 500 people contacted Kotowski in opposition to his bill. For every person who got an ISP visit, there are probably several more who contacted him and didn't. If he doesn't like getting thousands of angry (which is not the same thing as threatening) letters, he should take a good look at his legislative agenda. If banning everything he can is still a priority to him, then he better get used to this happening every year until he's voted out of office.

If banning everything he can is still a priority to him, then he better get used to this happening every year until he's voted out of office. Well put. If he got 500 faxes that were considered threatening, just think how may he got all together? This is actually a good thing. Somehow, I have a feeling that 500 is an inflated number. Knowing that there aren't all that many ISP police that are investiagtors {most are assigned to patrol} and making an assumption that many of the contacts are from downstate where driving distances would probably limit these visits to one per hour, 500 is a high numer Having said that, 5 would be a gross violation of police powers and even one is one too many.
Molly B. Posted June 21, 2007 at 07:16 PM Posted June 21, 2007 at 07:16 PM Maybe he received over 500 faxes? I in no way condone threatening messages but if these were just law abiding citizens expressing their displeasure over bills he introduced, I think we should take just a wee bit of pleasure in knowing in some small way our efforts here may have helped in genertating some of the heat on the senator . . . What did he expect?!! If he can't stand the heat he better get out of the kitchen.
Blaster Posted June 21, 2007 at 10:04 PM Posted June 21, 2007 at 10:04 PM Maybe he received over 500 faxes? Your right Molly. I talked to Sen. Althoff and she said that when she talked to Mr. Warchol she told him 500 faxes or calls were recieved.
