Tvandermyde Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:38 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:38 PM from todays press conference: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/I/IL_AMMUNITION_BAN_ILLINOIS_ILOL-?SITE=ILBLO&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT
TyGuy Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:39 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:39 PM Barf Guess they aren't familiar of the worst school shooting in the US, Virginia Tech, where 10 rd mag were used.
patriot1776 Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:50 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:50 PM Did anyone really think they would stop ? If everyone agreed to a bill with everything they wanted, next year they would try and make a new bill with more restrictions, followed by a new more restrictive bill every year . Like old man river they keep on rolling.
johnsxdm Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:52 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:52 PM Todd, let us know when to start the calls.
patriot1776 Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:56 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:56 PM An old timer told me back in high school , with regards to politics , bipartisanship and agreement only exists as fiction in the mind. He was in his 80's . I smile often remembering him , rest well Gus .
Kylar Stern Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:57 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:57 PM Now, I see why Sen Kotowski and Rep Moylan never seem to return my phone calls or emails.
BrowningHP Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:59 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 08:59 PM I know what doesn't help victims... Passing meaningless laws in their name that do nothing to prevent future tragedies. How many murders in Chicago required more than 10 bullets?
StreuB1 Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:24 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:24 PM "It's a way to hold the gun industry accountable," he said. "It's about time the gun industry step up and take responsibility for the products that they create and the products they sell. There's a reason why these guns are more lethal than they ever have been. It's because there's absolutely no regulation on the production and distribution of ammunition they can cause. " Yeah, because those standard capacity magazines are all new n stuff. Those shifty gun industry people.
StreuB1 Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:29 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:29 PM Keep us in the loop regarding when to release the hounds and what message to send. Thanks Todd and good seeing you out at the range again. I will also pay you a serious compliment. Your son was honestly the best kid I have run on a stage yet; I ran him and you on the steel challenge stage. His trigger dicipline and use of the safety was impressive. You've done a good job with him sir!!
cm.stites Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:29 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:29 PM not suprised quinns hopping on the bandwagon of trying to use children to get what he wants.....if he does get it passed he better hope magpul and the sherrifs dont win thier lawsuits or he will really put illinois in the hole.
blazzinbird Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:29 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:29 PM It won't pass the house, they tried it once and it failed.
cm.stites Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:31 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:31 PM It won't pass the house, they tried it once and it failed. it will be close in both houses. within a vote or two id say. it only failed by 2 votes the last time in the house hopefully rebo and durkin want no part of it anymore to give us a lil more cushion.
Capt_Destro Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:33 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:33 PM If this passes and they think I'm turning in stuff I paid for legally, with my hard earned coin. I have a bridge to sell them.
skew448 Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:40 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:40 PM This seems o be a strategy. Rauol wa talking about the complications going off the cliff would cause for CCW proponents. Now in the " eleventh hour they have switched their tactic to magazine capacity. Are they looking for a concession to save face? I.e we will trade you a mag ban for a shall issue. Have they decided going off the cliff is a better direction for them? They can't muster any votes for their bills? I think this is a diversion to blame us for the cliff. Then they can whine "oh woe is we" Just my $.02

bigdiogi Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:43 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:43 PM ...There's a reason why these guns are more lethal than they ever have been. It's because there's absolutely no regulation on the production and distribution of ammunition they can cause. ..." He says as The Bureau of Justice Statistics reports gun-related homicides declined by 39 percent from 1993 to 2011. While the Pew Research Center says gun-related homicides fell from 7 per 100,000 in 1993 to 3.6 per 100,000 in 2010, a decline of 49 percent. Please explain how the guns are so much more lethal yet the gun related homicides drop precipitously? Crickets.....More crickets.... a few frogs.... These people cannot be that ignorant that often, so the other option is they are a bunch of $^*(()^& wilful, malicious liars!
SteveJ Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:47 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:47 PM Kim Jung Un ain't got nothing on them. The king of New York has them set for life and all they gotta do is act. Haven't seen a tear from any of them, how can they cry without tears? They don't call them crisis actors for nothing. Where is the video footage from the school of Adam Lanza with the AR-15 and 30 round magazines?

Then they can whine "oh woe is we" Just my $.02 its a double edge sword.. if they try and push this onto the downstate democrats they will hurt thier chances of holding those seats in pro gun areas.. its typical chicago games.. they wanna bring in people from out of state to try and push the issue for them because they are to incapable of fixing chicagos violence problems even with close to these same restrictions in place that already prove it doesnt work.
Grey Beret Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:57 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:57 PM As many of you know, last night there was a T.V. show on CBS called 48. They spent an hour talking about Chicago and crime. At one point McCarthy was bragging about how many guns he had collected this year and his plans to get even more of them off the street to make Chicago safer. I could not believe it. That is like bragging that you took 50 buckets of water from the faucet to prevent damage next winter if the pipes were to freeze and burst. There is always going to be more guns. That is why buy backs are so dumb and somewhere in the recesses of their minds -- they know it.Forget the triggers. Collect the fingers.
blazzinbird Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:58 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 09:58 PM Well as long as what we already own is grand fathered in. I still oppose this.
Capt_Destro Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:00 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:00 PM Well as long as what we already own is grand fathered in. I still oppose this. Isn't this the bill that has no grandfathering of any sort?
Grey Beret Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:00 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:00 PM Well as long as what we already own is grand fathered in. I still oppose this. How do you prove when you bought them?I think that if they have a grandfather clause, they may want you to register them.
blazzinbird Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:01 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:01 PM Idk, I hope the people of Colorado win.
blazzinbird Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:02 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:02 PM Well as long as what we already own is grand fathered in. I still oppose this. How do you prove when you bought them?I think that if they have a grandfather clause, they may want you to register them. How do you register something with no serial number?
bigdiogi Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:04 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:04 PM Forget the triggers. Collect the fingers. I am so stealing this! Succinct, accurate, and memorable. Lovely! Matter of fact, want it for my sig. Have I your permission, sir. Would be tacky to use a stolen quote right in front of the originator.

Capt_Destro Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:10 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:10 PM I went through the Bill, it doesn't look like there is any kind of grandfathering.
Grey Beret Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:11 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:11 PM Well as long as what we already own is grand fathered in. I still oppose this. How do you prove when you bought them?I think that if they have a grandfather clause, they may want you to register them. How do you register something with no serial number? Don't know. Maybe just a declaration, maybe pictures, but I am pretty sure that someone somewhere had that as a part of bill. It might have been New York but I am sure that I didn't just come up with it.
RockerXX Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:12 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:12 PM How do you register something with no serial number? Do you really want to know? They will request you bring or send your magazines to an authorized serializing agent that will engrave a number on them and register them for a fee... And then if you are found in possession of a defaced magazine or one lacking a number, instant felon and no guns for you ever again, and thus justification for seizure of anything you did have registered...
TheDaveFactor Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:12 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 10:12 PM Good thing I don't own any magazines that hold more than 10 rounds... Really, I don't... That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
