Tompo Posted May 14, 2012 at 10:43 PM Posted May 14, 2012 at 10:43 PM I've seen dozens of websites and dozens of different prices/quality of gun belts. Is there any brand/website that you've had good luck with? Specifically with a crossbreed supertuck. (I'd rather not spend $100 on a belt)
05FLHT Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:01 PM Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:01 PM Wilderness Instructor 5-stich.
ming Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:02 PM Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:02 PM If you want leather, i.e., a dress belt, The Beltman has a very nice product. If you want something to wear with jeans or cargo pants I like the Wilderness Instructor belt as posted above by 05FLHT. http://www.thewilder...2309&parent=142 thebeltman.net/
Bud Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:14 PM Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:14 PM I am a pistol belt slut. If you're going to wear a holster (OWB or IWB) yoiu have to g=have a good belt. It has to be a 1/4" thick and at least 1 1/2" in width. You can spend whatever you want one a belt because there are makers who will charge LOTS for a quality belt. Besides being a pistol belt slut, I am also cheap. I found a guy that lives near the Alker International Holster company and he will buy an Aker belt from their outlet store and ship it to you for $47.00. Here's a link to Aker belts and my guy's email is pesty3782@gmail.com and his name is Anthony Pellegrino. He's great guy to do business with and it is a high quality belt. I always buy the B-21 belt which is $52.50 plus shipping. Tony does it for $47.00 including shipping. There are other belts that are cheaper or more expensive on the Aker website. Find the one you like and drop Tony a note and ask him how much.
anonymous too Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:22 PM Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:22 PM Wilderness Instructor 5-stich. I've worn an 1 3/4" version without a liner every day for years. I currently need another one. This is the belt everyone copies.http://www.thewilderness.com/storepinnacle/index.php?p=product&id=2309&parent=142 Had a Blackhawk version with a liner and gave it away in almost brand new condition. Too stiff.
milq Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:25 PM Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:25 PM If you like a nylon style, Wilderness is supposedly top of the line. I have a Blackhawk instructor style that has a plastic stiffener in it and it works very well. Took me a couple times wearing it to realize that it doesn't have to be uncomfortably tight to work properly. That plastic stiffener can be uncomfortable if you cinch things too tight and have to reach down for something you've dropped.
Mr_Rich Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:30 PM Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:30 PM When you're a fat man, in or out of the bathtub, it is problematic to find a decent belt. I settled on the Uncle Mike's copy of the Wilderness belt which has worked well for me. I've also vowed to eat less pie. Rich
xmikex Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:39 PM Posted May 14, 2012 at 11:39 PM I really like the LIGER belt - works for khakis as well as at the range. The Wilderness Instructor belt is THE industry standard. If I were pimpin', I'd get an OSOE Cobra Belt. Here's a quick video on choosing a carry setup and on what you want from a belt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pHlR67Fiww

I have an 1 1/2" Bullhide and love it. http://thebeltman.net/
Chiburbian Posted May 15, 2012 at 01:11 AM Posted May 15, 2012 at 01:11 AM It is outside of your price range, but I have a comp-tac kydex reinforced contour belt. I have worn it almost every day for two years and it is holding up nicely. if you hold it up by the buckle it will stand up and not flop over!
TyGuy Posted May 15, 2012 at 02:13 AM Posted May 15, 2012 at 02:13 AM I got one at Cabelas for $30. I actually bought two.
Milhouse86 Posted May 15, 2012 at 05:20 AM Posted May 15, 2012 at 05:20 AM Got mine from Hanks clothing. It is their Amish Belt. Works great!
Jeff Johnson Posted May 15, 2012 at 01:07 PM Posted May 15, 2012 at 01:07 PM You won't need the best premium belt with a Crossbreed SuperTuck. I find most any reasonable belt works with mine. I have a Kramer reinforced leather gunbelt that is very much appreciated when carrying a full size 1911 or my 629 OWB on my hip.
waynes Posted May 15, 2012 at 01:35 PM Posted May 15, 2012 at 01:35 PM I found a guy on sigforum that make GREAT belts. I have two and they are superb. Recieved mine within a week. Options for buckles and color and the price can't be beat.http://sigforum.com/...35/m/3270060572 I have no relationship with the maker other than being a customer. W (edited for spelling)
pyre400 Posted May 15, 2012 at 01:45 PM Posted May 15, 2012 at 01:45 PM I just ordered the 511 arc. Its a leather 1.5" - I'll post back with how well it works with the Crossbreed SuperTuck.
Tompo Posted May 15, 2012 at 02:09 PM Author Posted May 15, 2012 at 02:09 PM Thanks for all the great options. I just couldn't justify spending $100 (or more) on a belt. Esp. living (most of the year) here in Illinois, where we don't have CCW (YET!) I'm also going to check out Cabela's--mainly for sizing. I've found it hard to order a gun belt, over the internet. I like to try it on for size. I'd like to eliminate ordering the wrong size, if I can. thanks again for all the great choices...

pyre400 Posted May 17, 2012 at 02:57 AM Posted May 17, 2012 at 02:57 AM All day today with the 511 Arc, working in the yard. Very comfortable thus far. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the buckle is held on with chicago screws, so I can replace it should I ever want a different buckle. The belt is very sturdy, but I'll see how it holds up. My last belt got ugly quick from the crossbreed clips. $50 isnt too bad - so far I'm happy with my purchase.
