GarandFan Posted June 19, 2008 at 11:06 PM Share Posted June 19, 2008 at 11:06 PM People, this is as huge as it gets for Illinois and gun rights. Next to Washington, DC, Chicago has the strictest gun control laws in the nation. It is time to end the madness that is citizen disarmament. It is time to come out of the shadows. It is time to tell Chicago that enough is enough, and that they are not going to violate you any longer! Please ... this is the big one. Send this to everyone you know that might even be remotely interested. Print it up and drop it off at shooting ranges, sporting goods stores, gun shops, etc. Attend yourself! AB The Thompson Center is literally 3 blocks east (across the Chicago River) from Union Station (the train station). It's also 3 blocks east of the Sears Tower ... tallest building in Chicago. Surely you folks can find THAT!!!

They got a rail there at that Tower that I can tie the horses up to??? Actually, at 8 blocks to the mile, (I think that's the Chicago standard) 3 blocks would 120 rod. AB Edited to add: Yes, I've been to the big city, and I realize that parking is at a premium both in availability and price. That's what I'm saying, as the time approaches, it would be very helpful to have a suggestion or two for lodging outside the city and public transportation to and from the Center. Maybe that would deserve a thread of it's own in a week or two!! AB again

THIS WILL BE A CELEBRATION OF OUR SECOND AMENDMENT FREEDOMS AS SUPPORTED BY THE SUPREME COURT!! BE THERE!!!!!!!!! Parking in downtown Chicago is scarce and expensive. Plan in $25-30 for just 2-3 hours. I plan on taking a Metra train in. Parking in the outer suburbs and taking the train is not a bad idea. As we get closer I'm sure we can post locations and train costs.
