Blaster Posted August 7, 2005 at 06:53 PM Posted August 7, 2005 at 06:53 PM New Hampshire's are also only $20 (non-residents need a carry permit from somewhere to be eligible for NH). Besides NH itself (NH recognizes PA permits, but only for residents), it looks to me (from a quick look at packing.org) that a New Hampshire permit would gain you Alabama, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, and North Dakota (that you don't already have with a PA permit). Here's a link to the NH permit application, plus contact information, and where to send the completed application: Click here for info Fill it out and send it to:Division of State PolicePermits and Licensing Unit33 Hazen DriveConcord, NH 03301Phone: (603) 271-3575Fax: (603) 271-1153
sctman800 Posted August 7, 2005 at 11:45 PM Posted August 7, 2005 at 11:45 PM I have the NH nonresident and I don't remember how long it took, but I remember it was about as quick as Penn. Jim.
ilphil Posted August 8, 2005 at 02:05 AM Posted August 8, 2005 at 02:05 AM NH is QUICK.Sent my application in in late June has it in less than 2 weeks, even with the 4th of July holiday in there. They could give efficiency lessons to the ISP...
45superman Posted August 15, 2005 at 09:54 PM Posted August 15, 2005 at 09:54 PM I'm finally getting around to filling out my NH permit application, but I have a couple questions for you folks who have already gone through the process. First, what do you put in the blank for "Home-State Permit No.?" Do you use your FOID number, do you use your PA (or whichever state) CCW permit number, or do you just leave it blank? Also, are the four boxes in the top quarter of the page on the right side (which are labelled "Original," "Renewal," "Record Check," and "Fee Received," respectively) for the NH people to fill out, or does the applicant check one ("Original," I would assume)? Thanks in advance.
ilphil Posted August 16, 2005 at 02:53 AM Posted August 16, 2005 at 02:53 AM I just crossed out "home state" and wrote PA in the space above it and filled in my PA permit #. Must have been ok, got my permit in less than 2 weeks.Sent a copy of my FOID and PA permit and IL driver's license. Seemed to satisfy them.
45superman Posted August 16, 2005 at 02:59 AM Posted August 16, 2005 at 02:59 AM Great--definitely useful information, and I really appreciate it. As for my other question, do you remember if you checked the "Original" box, or just left all four of those boxes blank? Thanks again.
Soybomb Posted August 16, 2005 at 03:55 AM Posted August 16, 2005 at 03:55 AM I just sent a copy of my PA permit, hope they don't mind....
45superman Posted August 16, 2005 at 08:42 PM Posted August 16, 2005 at 08:42 PM Sent my application in today--we'll see how it goes.
ilphil Posted August 16, 2005 at 09:29 PM Posted August 16, 2005 at 09:29 PM I did check the "original" box. Sorry I didn't mention that last time!!
45superman Posted August 16, 2005 at 09:31 PM Posted August 16, 2005 at 09:31 PM Ahh...I left it blank. Hopefully, they'll know what to do.
Soybomb Posted August 22, 2005 at 05:28 PM Posted August 22, 2005 at 05:28 PM Got NH in today, all I mailed in was a copy of my penn permit, no drivers license and no foid. Just a FYI to save future applicants. Whats the smudge in the lower right hand corner anyway? An easter island statue? Penn's permit sure looks more authentic, NH looks like something someone made themselves
Trefilov22 Posted August 23, 2005 at 03:35 PM Posted August 23, 2005 at 03:35 PM i think thats the old man in the mountain???
45superman Posted August 24, 2005 at 02:30 PM Posted August 24, 2005 at 02:30 PM They cashed my check--I'll take that as a good sign.
45superman Posted August 25, 2005 at 07:39 PM Posted August 25, 2005 at 07:39 PM Got here today. Not too shabby (sent it out the 16th). Soybomb, I see what you mean with regard to that thing in the lower right corner. I suppose Trefilov's idea is as good an explanation as any, but I sure wouldn't have guessed that on my own.
SmershAgent Posted August 26, 2005 at 01:38 PM Posted August 26, 2005 at 01:38 PM i think thats the old man in the mountain??? That's correct. His visage can also be seen on the NH state quarter, although the image is so poorly rendered it's very difficult to make out.
Trefilov22 Posted August 30, 2005 at 04:13 PM Posted August 30, 2005 at 04:13 PM Also, last I heard about the "Old Man in the Mountain" was that it actually fell off the mountain??? I can't be certain but I thought I saw that a few months back that it crumbled apart????
mack69 Posted August 30, 2005 at 06:22 PM Posted August 30, 2005 at 06:22 PM Yepper, it was pretty much demolished by a bad rock slide back in early 2003.
Ocellairs Posted September 2, 2005 at 10:28 PM Posted September 2, 2005 at 10:28 PM Okay, a not so smart individual here....Does NH require a passport photo?
45superman Posted September 2, 2005 at 10:29 PM Posted September 2, 2005 at 10:29 PM No (or at least I got one without having sent a photo--although I did include a copy of my PA permit, which did have such a photo).
Ocellairs Posted September 3, 2005 at 01:00 AM Posted September 3, 2005 at 01:00 AM No (or at least I got one without having sent a photo--although I did include a copy of my PA permit, which did have such a photo). I hate to send one if one isn't needed. I'am sending a copy of my FOID card, drivers license, and Florida permit.

I'am sending a copy of my FOID card, drivers license, and Florida permit. That's all you need. Since the NH permit doesn't have your picture on it, they don't need it.Wish we didn't have to send a pic for Utah. Those pictures always make me look like a refugee from death row.
Soybomb Posted September 3, 2005 at 08:01 AM Posted September 3, 2005 at 08:01 AM No (or at least I got one without having sent a photo--although I did include a copy of my PA permit, which did have such a photo).I hate to send one if one isn't needed. I'am sending a copy of my FOID card, drivers license, and Florida permit. All they got from me was my application, check, and a copy of my PA permit, my NH permit is in my pocket now.
Ocellairs Posted September 4, 2005 at 04:19 AM Posted September 4, 2005 at 04:19 AM NH application sent out today.
Houndawg Posted September 4, 2005 at 06:03 AM Posted September 4, 2005 at 06:03 AM Got mine ready to go. Is a money order any quicker than a check? Lot's of places want to wait to see if a check will clear. I wouldn't think a state police agency would be like that since writing them a rubber check would have my locals knocking on my door in a heartbeat.
45superman Posted September 4, 2005 at 10:50 AM Posted September 4, 2005 at 10:50 AM I used a check, and I can't imagine the process going any faster than it did (9 days).
Ocellairs Posted September 15, 2005 at 03:57 PM Posted September 15, 2005 at 03:57 PM New Hampshire permit...just arrivied. Application sent on Sep 3rd (but to late for the 3PM pickup) but really didn't leave the area till after Labor Day. So not counting the Labor Day delay 10 days! They sent my self-address return envelope out on Sep 12th.
45superman Posted September 15, 2005 at 04:02 PM Posted September 15, 2005 at 04:02 PM Kinda makes you wonder why a simple FOID takes a month or more, doesn't it?
Ocellairs Posted September 15, 2005 at 04:06 PM Posted September 15, 2005 at 04:06 PM Kinda makes you wonder why a simple FOID takes a month or more, doesn't it? Still waiting on my PA permit. May call tomorrow if it doesn't arrive in mail.
+P+ Posted January 11, 2006 at 10:59 PM Posted January 11, 2006 at 10:59 PM This is GREAT news! So This is my first post. Hello all! If I get this NH permit, do I also get reciprocity to carry in all of the states that PA allows, or do I only get the ones listed in the first post? Is Michigan one of the states covered by either permit? Thanks.
