RockerXX Posted June 13, 2013 at 09:46 PM Share Posted June 13, 2013 at 09:46 PM http://www.wmay.com/wmay-news/62596 Springfield aldermen appear to have no interest in Lieutenant Governor Sheila Simon’s suggestion that they move quickly to pass a local assault weapons ban. Simon said this week that home rule communities like Springfield should pass such bans before the pending concealed carry legislation takes away their power to do so. But a cross-section of city aldermen finds almost no support for the idea, with most saying such laws should be consistent around the state, rather than changing from city to city. cls74 Posted June 13, 2013 at 10:19 PM Share Posted June 13, 2013 at 10:19 PM This is music to my ears, thanks for posting. Been trying to find out what kind of talks if any were ongoing on this issue. I didn't think much support for one would happen, but being the state capital(Yes Chicago, Springfield is still the capital) I didn't know if that would add any pressure to the situation. xd9subcompact Posted June 13, 2013 at 11:09 PM Share Posted June 13, 2013 at 11:09 PM Any chance our Lt. Governor has used any official state letterhead to push this AWB agenda? 'cause if so, I think that is a crime in IL.
