DoktorPaimon Posted March 29, 2013 at 02:46 AM Share Posted March 29, 2013 at 02:46 AM I ordered a Delta at my local gun store a couple of months ago and I'm just trying to get a ballpark. Does anyone have an idea of how long I'm likely to be waiting?
Fuddster Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:10 AM Share Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:10 AM I ordered an XSE in April of 2011. August 2011 my dealer told me he would be receiving a Gold Cup which he had ordered at the Shot show the previous January. I took it instead, I don't think he ever got the XSE. This January, I had him order another Gold Cup. No word yet. In November of 2011 I had him try to find a 1911 in 38 Super. He located one in a couple of days. YMMV, good luck. Patriots & Tyrants Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:27 AM Share Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:27 AM You might call GAT guns they had a few Colt 1911s last time I was there about a month ago. I dont know about an XSE or Delta but give em a call. Might also call Gilberts guns they had a used colt last time I visited.
cherryriver Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:31 AM Share Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:31 AM Actually, GAT had a cartful of new Colts, mostly Government Models, Gold Cups, and Mustangs, arrived just before last weekend's manufacturer's show. Almost none of them got into the showcases and they were still there last night when we were there for our class. You might call, but I don't know that I saw any XSEs. RockerXX Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:50 AM Share Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:50 AM Most stores I have talked to will not even order a firearm any longer as there is absolutely no solid lead times being given by any manufacture or distributor... Lots of hearsay times being tossed around but that is just that hearsay, and I wouldn't hold my breath on any of those times...
Patriots & Tyrants Posted March 29, 2013 at 04:48 AM Share Posted March 29, 2013 at 04:48 AM I have had more than one store tell me new colt rifles may be up to a year. Ontop of that it sounds like Colt may be moving if an AWB is passed in Conn. The short amswer is it could be 6 months it could be 2 years.
3ddiver Posted March 29, 2013 at 11:43 AM Share Posted March 29, 2013 at 11:43 AM I can't speak about Colt but I know when I ask my wholesalers about ETA on orders they tell me when they come in the door they are in stock. They have pretty much no idea when they will get their orders in.
patriot1776 Posted March 29, 2013 at 12:39 PM Share Posted March 29, 2013 at 12:39 PM Yep no orders being taken by most and they get in what they find, when it arrives. This is 10 fold worse than what happened in the 80's . What weapons are in supply ? What ammo is in supply ? When will the market stabilize ? Three great questions. DoktorPaimon Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:03 PM Author Share Posted March 29, 2013 at 03:03 PM Thanks everyone. I guess on the upside by the time my Delta comes in it'll feel like Christmas and maybe the 10mm to feed it will be somewhat easier to find.
