Arlington Internation Airgun shooter makes the news

That's awesome! Great to see! -
US v Miller was the case where the government used shenanigans to lock in the NFA with precedent. From Wikipedia: On March 30, 1939, the Supreme Court heard the case. Attorneys for the United States argued four points: The NFA is intended as a revenue-collecting measure and so is within the authority of the Department of the Treasury. The defendants transported the shotgun from Oklahoma to Arkansas and so used it in interstate commerce. The Second Amendment protects only the ownership of military-type weapons appropriate for use in an organized militia. The "double barrel 12-gauge Stevens shotgun having a barrel less than 18 inches in length, bearing identification number 76230," was never used in any militia organization. None of those arguments really hold up at this point, well I guess #2 does.

(720 ILCS 5/Art. 7 heading) ARTICLE 7. JUSTIFIABLE USE OF FORCE; EXONERATION (720 ILCS 5/7-1) (from Ch. 38, par. 7-1) Sec. 7-1. Use of force in defense of person. (a) A person is justified in the use of force against another when and to the extent that he reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to defend himself or another against such other's imminent use of unlawful force. However, he is justified in the use of force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm only if he reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or another, or the commission of a forcible felony. (b) In no case shall any act involving the use of force justified under this Section give rise to any claim or liability brought by or on behalf of any person acting within the definition of "aggressor" set forth in Section 7-4 of this Article, or the estate, spouse, or other family member of such a person, against the person or estate of the person using such justified force, unless the use of force involves willful or wanton misconduct. I'd say prepared over vigilant. Relax, enjoy life but be prepared to flip the switch when needed. Nothing more cringey than a guy at a restaurant trying to figure out which door he doesn't want his back to before his wife can sit down.

ISP noncompliance with FOID rules, Audit finds.

It's not the hardware that's expensive. It's the data on the devices and their potential to connect to state systems that could make it really expensive. -

One note: you can't pm him. He did post his AOL email address in a few threads though. -
This is a good series to check out: https://www.phlsterholsters.com/deep-carry If you're worried about someone holding on to you while you draw then you probably don't want to draw due to the risk of losing your gun when they grab it. This course has been on my list to take for a while: https://shivworks.com/extreme-close-quarters-concepts/.

This is why we train. It's also why my g34.5 is my favorite appendix carry gun. What did you hate about your holster?

Don't talk to the police. There is no such thing as cooperation. It's just assisting in their investigation. -

This is a good time to judge slowly. Based on the early facts, they ran into an ambush. Depending on their background, their training may not be that far from your own. Doubt me on this? Start looking at how cops have their tourniquets staged. You can tell who is trained and who isn't real quick. https://www.police1.com/police-training/tell-me-you-dont-know-how-to-use-your-tourniquet-without-telling-me-you-dont-know-how-to-use-your-tourniquet -

The other rulings issued today, while outside the scope of this site, are surprising too. Especially when you look at who wrote some of the opinions. -
