d38runner Posted October 24, 2014 at 12:56 AM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 12:56 AM Ok, I am on the IL CCW site attempting to get through my online app. The good news is that I successfully created my digital ID and made it through the first few pages of the application on the ISP site with no problem. However, I am now stuck on the third or fourth page in, which is the part of the application that asks you questions like: -Are you a citizen? (I answered Yes)-Do you have a valid FOID card? (I answered Yes and entered my FOID card number)-Do you have a valid Driver's License ? (I answered Yes and entered my driver's license no.) I then hit "Next" at the bottom of the screen but I can never move beyond this screen. When I hit "Next" I see the Internet Explorer icon load (the swirling blue circle), but then nothing ultimately happens. I can leave the computer screen and come back 15 minutes later and still see the blue circle. I have saved my application, exited Internet Explorer, and re-logged in to the site, but the same issue happens. Any thoughts? One concern I have is that when I signed up for my digital ID, there was some box to check that stated something like "Don't share data with other IL agencies" and I clicked that box. Could doing that now be preventing the ISP from being able to check my driver's license no. with the IL SOS office? I'm guessing here. ETA: I called the digital ID number today and they opened a ticket for me but I never got a call back from them.
Mr. Fife Posted October 24, 2014 at 01:27 AM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 01:27 AM Might have something to do with using CAPS or maybe dashes? It's been a long time since I did mine but remember it had to be exactly like on your DL, ie. AV instead of Avenue or something like that. It's probably something else, but that's all I've got, trying to help.

Currently, I'm using Internet Explorer version 10 in compatibility mode with Java 7 version 60, but I do have Chrome on my computer. I just thought it had to be IE. reelpro Posted October 24, 2014 at 02:10 AM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 02:10 AM I used the computer at my shop so I don't know which version it was. I am at home right now. I used firefox for another student and it worked also. Internet explorer 9 would not advance past that same page.

I had everything typed out just as it should have been but it just wouldn't go past that page. I ended up having to go to a friends house and use his computer. I had a lot of people here offering advice also but none of it worked. I hope you get it figured out.
tkroenlein Posted October 24, 2014 at 02:47 AM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 02:47 AM I *think* there should be a pop-up at some point in there. Maybe allow pop ups for that site and see what happens.
d38runner Posted October 24, 2014 at 03:42 AM Author Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 03:42 AM Good news! Using reelpro's advice, I switched to Google Chrome and was able to successfully complete my application. I did have an initial issue in Chrome where I had to allow popups, but after that smooth sailing. I can't believe how bad my version of Internet Explorer was at trying to handle the application process. I would have been stuck at that page forever. Anyways, I am very relieved. And thank you to reelpro, Mr. Fife, papa and tkroenlein for your responses -- I really appreciate it. Now I am officially "Under Review."

Whenever I have problems with Internet Explorer I try the others until I find one that works. This has never failed to keep me going.
