catgunguy Posted January 24, 2020 at 12:49 AM Share Posted January 24, 2020 at 12:49 AM I was wondering if the ccw allows a longer knife or if it is still around three inches in Illinois ? Thank you.
spanishjames Posted January 24, 2020 at 12:57 AM Share Posted January 24, 2020 at 12:57 AM CCL allows you to carry a handgun. Nothing else.
InterestedBystander Posted January 24, 2020 at 01:00 AM Share Posted January 24, 2020 at 01:00 AM Valid FOID allows auto knives. As said, CCL does nothing. But no state knife preemption and various municipalities can set their own in their muni code. Dont know if there is anything specific in state UUW code but most local that have knife laws iirc are written as 2.5" to 3" There may be a previous muni code knife thread on the board. Yeti Posted January 24, 2020 at 03:43 AM Share Posted January 24, 2020 at 03:43 AM Check out the LegalBlade app from Knife Rights. It allows you to check local laws. KR is a great group fighting hard for other 2nd Amendment rights
vito Posted January 25, 2020 at 01:05 AM Share Posted January 25, 2020 at 01:05 AM I'm thinking about open carry of a cavalry sword. Always liked the look.
