Molly B. Posted March 15, 2010 at 04:36 AM Posted March 15, 2010 at 04:36 AM Many women at IGOLD wanted copies of the letter they signed to give to family and friends to mail in also. Please encourage the women in your life to print a copy and mail to the Gov. Down load and print a copy for all your female friends and family - encourage them to send a message to the Governor!Women\'s appeal.pdf Gov. Patrick Quinn214 State HouseSpringfield, IL 62706 Dear Gov. Patrick Quinn, I was very disappointed to hear of your lack of support for the women of Illinois and their great need toprotect themselves and their loved ones against violent crime. As you know, women are the prime target of violent assault, rape, and murder. Illinois women fall victimto the violation of nearly 4,000 orders of protection every year in Illinois. Thousands more of us arevictims of random violent crime every day. Here in Illinois I am not afforded the same protection women have in every other state in the nation. It isshocking in this day and age that the women of Illinois are relegated to hair combs, nail files, and carkeys* with which to defend our very lives while the law-abiding and trained women of nearly 49 otherstates are licensed to carry a more effective means of self-defense. Thousands of us have an out of state carry license which provides us the opportunity to protect ourselvesand our families when we travel outside the state of Illinois. However, here at home – home where weshould be and feel the safest – we are made, by law, to stand defenseless in the face of life-threateningdanger. Your vow to veto a License to Carry law which would provide a lawful means of self-defense for thewomen of this state is outrageous!! When the women of Illinois desperately need an advocate in the StateCapitol, who will stand up for us? Who can we count on? If you will not stand up for us in our need to protect our very lives – how can we stand up for you asGovernor? NO RIGHT TO CARRY? NO VOTE FOR PAT QUINN! Conservative1 Posted March 23, 2010 at 08:36 PM Posted March 23, 2010 at 08:36 PM Will do! In fact I'll post it at: As A Mom, http://asamom.ning.com/group/illinoismoms (a forum dedicated to Moms, Aunts, Grandmas, etc., who believe in our Constitutional rights and the future of the children in this country in relation to maintaining their rights) and M.O.M. for America, http://mom4america.ning.com/group/illinoismomforamerica (a forum dedicated to maintain the principles that our Forefathers set forth for our Nation, and to educate today's citizens so that they may understand the need to protect our children's futures, what America stands for, and why freedom and liberty as written in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights are the governing documents for our United States!) The women who frequent these sights are VERY dedicated to our rights - including the second amendment!
