  1. I know you can just swap a .40 SW barrel into a G20, was not aware .45 would work too.
  2. So ruling was narrow and case is a one-off, but can't it be cited as precedent like Bruen was supposed to be? I am obviously NAL.
  3. A bit off topic as this sword and cutting was in the house - but it's still a sword story and we really don't hear enough of these. Sword-Wielding Elmhurst Woman Arrested: Cops | Elmhurst, IL Patch Collette Bajic, 54, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Sunday at her house on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor domestic battery (two counts) and resisting a police officer.
  4. Not sure about that. I had a CPD detective in my Chicago office getting some video footage of just another crime on my block. He noticed the telescoping baton on my bicycle. I told him I am not carrying it to commit a crime or to do anyone harm. He smiled and acknowledged that since I was aware of the law, no problem.
  5. So the Senate has a 32 minute workday and the House has a 24 minute workday.
  6. Thanks SIL, scathing commentary and pretty sad. I heard an interesting caller this morning on the radio. He talked about how socialism snuck up on the world around WW2 and now, with social media and sites like this, we very clearly see it coming but are not doing anything about it.
  7. I'd like to hear from the CPD on this. I can't believe this tech doesn't help them do their job better.
  8. Dolton in the news. This guy and that Mayor! I don't spend a lot of time in our legal system so I'm not sure how one could rack up 160 counts of murder - he couldn't have killed 160 people.
  9. Getting old - it's better than the alternative.
  10. 38k in car accidents, about the same for firearm-related (most of which are suicides). Take a look at tobacco-related, around 400k/year.
  11. Right on Jeffrey. This is a great example of pro-active policing. Either something terrible was about to go down or the perpetrators just roll around super heavy waiting for something to happen - both scenarios have no place in society.
  12. I'm assuming all this hardware was confiscated. I hope these guys had a chance to complete all of their endorsements prior to their arrest. Naperville police charge 3 men after loaded machine guns, variety of drugs found inside car parked at Bowlero (msn.com)
  13. 'not in common use' thanks Arch. Scariest prediction of this whole mess so far.
  14. 'Affadavitting leads to confiscation.' Doesn't have as good a ring to it.
  15. I was told by someone behind the desk at Article 2 that the IL Supreme Court had ruled (years ago) that registration was unconstitutional. Anyone aware of this?
  16. Here's an example of the 'efforts'. Hard to believe, but this is not in purple. Chicago gangs asked to stop shooting from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.: ‘You’re getting little kids killed’ (msn.com)
  17. Not sure if this is the right thread for this bad news. Illinois Supreme Court upholds state’s assault-style weapons ban (msn.com)
  18. Charges dropped, lawsuit filed. CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago woman has filed a lawsuit after charges against her and her son were dropped in a deadly shooting at a South Side restaurant. Carlishia Hood and her attorneys announced the lawsuit against Chicago and responding police officers at a press conference Tuesday morning. Attorneys said the lawsuit contains four counts of malicious prosecution, false arrest and intentional infliction of emotional distress. This comes after the Cook County State's Attorney's Office dropped all criminal charges against her and her 14-year-old son.
  19. Just curious about what started the 'discussion' between the woman and puncher. Video seems to start after they were already going at it.
  20. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It doesn't seem like that went very well for us.
  21. We might not lose Mayor Lightfoot. DProft is predicting she will replace Foxx. Foxx to replace Preckwinkle. Preckwinkle to replace Durbin. We have to be in a simulation with 13yo's on the joysticks. Increasing and spreading crime while confiscating firearms from the law abiding - tired of this GTA universe.
  22. Phew! I knew about all of these already! Thanks for making that happen Molly (via this forum) and thanks for posting this.
  23. I'm going with the Benchmade Mini-barrage. Blade is pretty close to the legal length and am real happy with my Mini-griptilian. But does blade length limit change with this law too? The Mini-barrage isn't an auto knife fyi. It's a spring assisted opener that's perfectly legal in the state today. Great knife, but if you're looking for an auto, that's not one. Thanks man. I learn something new every day on this site. Back to the Benchmade site...
