Ok, this may be the dumbest question ever asked, but here it goes... I recently bought a new Beretta 92a1. Very nice gun, also came with 3 mags, but inside the case is this blue round plastic thingy???? I have no idea what it is or what its for. Does anyone know what its for or is it just something for shipping? Thanks

First off, the only dumb question, is the question you don't ask. Secondly, a picture might help facilitate an answer. Just sayin'

I was thinking an empty chamber indicator - you know - with a handle that sticks out... indicates that there is no round at battery as it fills the chamber and slide won't completley close. Dunno...

It's a blue plastic thingy that serves no purpose but to make first time 92 owners post what they think is a dumb question on gun boards. So far, it's 100% effective.

Seriously, without seeing it, it's hard to even guess. I'd say Thiokol has the best answer so far.

I am pretty sure he is talking about the blue cup in the pistol case (see picture) Beretta started puttinmg thme in to keep the case from being crushed. I have several that I have kept over the years.

Ever had pizza delivered in a non-cardboard-box container?

I keep spare change in one and the other one seems to collect a lot of different stuff; They are "cupped" so they can hold a bunch.

It's a bullet cup. Put your rounds in it so your springs don't weake from compression. Ok I don't know but hum it's a thought.
