Is there any list of current state reps/senators who are against a "shall issue" law in Illinois?

I want to start really agitating to get the law changed. I am the new guy on the scene so I know a lot of you have already done a lot of the ground work. Is there annybody in the LaSalle/Dekalb/Grundy/Kendall/Bureau?Henry counties on the board?

Also, I know a lot of you belong to the ISRA. Is there any help if I wanted to start holding open meetings in this area? I think I can get a pretty good size meeting hall. My idea is to attract enough people (I know, we'll serve BEER!) and then try to fire them up enough to get busy and get this done.

I think the court action is one way to go and I think Todd and the ILA have a pretty handle on facing the legislators in Springfield.

But we need to get the people of the state fired up.

I am absolutely amazed at how much reaction I received from that letter that we wrote here and then I had published in the Ottawa Times and the Valley Free Press in Dekalb County. I have had folks (including politicians) call my house, stop me in my town and all are very much in favor of CCW.

People are paying attention to politics right now and we need to take advantage of this.

Okay, point well taken

My email is j.harton@mchsi.com

If yopu are interested in helping me drop me a note. I will start a mail list.

But I won't add anybody until somebody else vouches for them.

I have a website (www.RVTransporters.net) and I could start another but I think that is a bad idea but I couldn't replicate this site and what's the sense of doing that? This one is great.

How will you add the first person? :frantics:

I don't think down state is the issue, I am sure you would fill any hall down there. Now I am not saying that this is a bad idea in fact it is a GREAT idea. But Chicago has to be the target to get the change.... my opinion of course take it for what it’s worth....

If anybody wants to help, send me a note. I will get someone to vouch for them Don Gwinn or Todd? That would probably work.

I had a long post below this, but then I remember what Todd said. I will reserve comment for the mail list.

You can get some leads on how people have voted by looking at the house and senate contact lists that are pinned at the top of here in the IL Politics Forum.

Also I believe someone had started a list last fall where we asked reps and senators if they support or oppose. Was that Sir Matthew who did that?
