DoktorPaimon Posted October 14, 2013 at 01:47 PM Posted October 14, 2013 at 01:47 PM Over the weekend I took the 8 hour training with Thomas at CGS. He was professional, informative, used the Illinois Carry curriculum, and the price was reasonable. He also bought us breakfast and lunch, which was above and beyond in my book. If you're looking for training in the near north suburbs, I'd definitely recommend him.
Danielm60660 Posted October 14, 2013 at 02:31 PM Posted October 14, 2013 at 02:31 PM Question. After this 8 hour, are you all set to apply? Also, did you already have 8 hours credit? Thanks,DM
TARFU Posted October 17, 2013 at 12:04 PM Posted October 17, 2013 at 12:04 PM I also attended the same class with the OP. I concur with everything said. I thought Thomas ran an efficient class and provided informed answers to everyone's questions. All of the required curriculum was covered. The atmosphere was friendly and very laid back. To be honest, I was a little hesitant when he mentioned the class would be delivered at his residence but it ended up being fine for the size group we had and he made everyone feel welcome. Overall, I enjoyed it and that's saying a lot given how dry some of the material is. To answer Daniel's question, everyone in the class had different levels of prior training. The class did count for eight hours. For some, that was enough to obtain the license.
