Quiet Observer Posted March 1, 2020 at 01:24 AM Posted March 1, 2020 at 01:24 AM You are talking about a very large expense. It could involve any of several things - breaking a long term commercial lease, paying taxes on an empty building, finding a new location, building a new store, moving inventory, etc. It would probably involve several million dollars. There could also be a prolonged down time when the store is not open. There is more to it than loading Grannie and the rocker in the back, and having Jethro drive.
Alby Posted March 1, 2020 at 03:14 AM Posted March 1, 2020 at 03:14 AM The building could be donated to a tax free organization. This would hurt HE more than crook county but both would suffer. Bass pro may even get a tax break
Quiet Observer Posted March 1, 2020 at 03:50 AM Posted March 1, 2020 at 03:50 AM Cabellas and now BassPro have a lot of people with advanced degrees in finance, marketing, business, and other related fields, as well as years of experience in the market. If relocating a multi-million dollar store were that simple, they would have already done it. I will let them make their own decision on that question.
