flw Posted April 8, 2013 at 10:41 PM Share Posted April 8, 2013 at 10:41 PM See the video below for Harry Reid's speech today introducing SB for UBC and transfer of guns/registry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJxhDAMOlKk He gives two reasons for supporting this bill. 1. Its for the children 2. Republicans are to blame for everything. Don't forget it's for the children!!!

cm.stites Posted April 9, 2013 at 12:05 AM Share Posted April 9, 2013 at 12:05 AM i love how he seems to forget his bill has to pass the gop controlled house also... lets see how far it gets in the house without bipartisan support in the senate. Double-J Posted April 9, 2013 at 01:43 AM Share Posted April 9, 2013 at 01:43 AM How much you want to bet his nra rating goes down The NRA ought to throw him to the curb where the rest of his friends are. Looks like Bloombum has a new lackey on the payroll. Looks like he is selling out those that trusted and continually voted for him. Anyone who continues to traumatize and give false hope to the grieving parents of Sandy Hook or fly them around on AF1 and place these poor souls in front of the camera for his/her own personal agenda needs to be called out as the reptiles they are. They have no more genuine concern for any victim than you or I and the fact that they continue to parade these poor pawns around for their own personal agenda is a disservice to them, the souls they lost and shows that the Anti Gunners cannot muster enough support for their cause on its own merits and are that desperate to advance their cause on the backs of grieving parents and loved ones. Sharz96 Posted April 9, 2013 at 02:05 AM Share Posted April 9, 2013 at 02:05 AM Absolutely, that's what's happening. Not only because he knows it would finish him if he voted for it, but because he knows it'll cost Ds the Senate. He wants no vote, so Ds can SAY whatever they want to placate the anti-2A-ers, without actually have to DO anything.

Do you think that's what is happening?he hasnt really been hunting for votes. hes blatantly said dems dont support it and that they dont even have 40 votes on certain aspects of it. if he was more gun ho about it he would be making sure they had atleast 51 dem votes. but he says each time he speaks on gun control that they either dont have the votes or some of his dems are against it.. if he was "for" gun control as much as it seems he would of cancelled thier break and done it then not waited.. i think hes hoping the repubs filibuster it and he can look like he did something even tho he didnt.. if he really wanted his bill to hit the floor he would motioned for cloture today to circumvent a potential filibuster. C0untZer0 Posted April 9, 2013 at 01:13 PM Share Posted April 9, 2013 at 01:13 PM The filibuster by true republcans saved his sorry donkey's a**. Now the he and other dems can largely avoid angering their pro-gun constituency because no gun control will be enacted, but they can go to their gun control activists and proclaim that it wasn't their fault - it was the obstructionist republicans.
