Ocellairs Posted March 22, 2010 at 07:47 PM Posted March 22, 2010 at 07:47 PM If you notice in the following image. How can one post and see what they post, when midway down in the text box one gets the task bar. Your quote if long enough goes behind the task bar and you are unable to see it. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b376/ghostwalking/sitesupport.jpg
GarandFan Posted March 22, 2010 at 07:58 PM Posted March 22, 2010 at 07:58 PM I had that trouble too, and it was my web browser (had been using IE 6). Now I use Mozilla for IC stuff, and it works fine.

Federal Farmer Posted March 23, 2010 at 05:41 PM Posted March 23, 2010 at 05:41 PM I have the same problem in IE7 (which I have to use at work) but not in IE8 which I use at home. IE8 is more in line with Mozilla and the other browsers than IE6 or IE7.
GarandFan Posted March 23, 2010 at 05:48 PM Posted March 23, 2010 at 05:48 PM Just in case anyone is interested ... I am having a heck of a time trying to run IC on my Mosaic browser.

GarandFan Posted March 23, 2010 at 06:01 PM Posted March 23, 2010 at 06:01 PM Damn! Illinois Carry just doesn't seem to work on my computer! http://www.criminology.fsu.edu/book/abacus.gif
Federal Farmer Posted March 23, 2010 at 07:17 PM Posted March 23, 2010 at 07:17 PM I love me some abacus. With respect to browsers, I suspect the issue is more which version of CSS they support. This is probably a CSS2 vs. CSS3 issue.

Lou Posted March 23, 2010 at 07:40 PM Posted March 23, 2010 at 07:40 PM I've moved beyond the abacus:
Chris Posted March 23, 2010 at 07:47 PM Posted March 23, 2010 at 07:47 PM I've moved beyond the abacus: Hey I've heard of those things before, I have no clue how to use one of those though.

They were pretty handy before calculators were invented. On physics tests we used to put SRA on top for "Slide Rule Acurracy" meaning that the answers were in the ballpark but not exact. Yes folks, I actually used a slIde rule in high school before calculators were invented!!And no, you didn't use the calculator function of your cell phone either.

I remember when carrying a pager made people think you were someone important like a doctor! Here's my first cell phone.
Ol'Coach Posted March 24, 2010 at 02:57 AM Posted March 24, 2010 at 02:57 AM Having spent a couple of years on T'aiwan in the late 50's, i saw shop owners use an abacus a heckova lot faster than I have ever been able to use a calculator! I believe that would hold true compared to a computer, as ya still gotta enter the data! And, after all, isn't that what's being done with an abacus...just not electronically!

I was in the last class in my HS (1975-1976) that used slide rules in chem/physics classes.
tdiller Posted March 25, 2010 at 12:40 AM Posted March 25, 2010 at 12:40 AM I still have mine but all I can do is multiply/divide and maybe square roots I've moved beyond the abacus: Hey I've heard of those things before, I have no clue how to use one of those though.

I had an el cheapo one in high school and when I first started college, and always wanted a nice one. I got my chance about 28 years ago, there were some college book stores stuck with some.I have a collection of them now.
