Birdmang Posted February 8, 2010 at 10:10 PM Posted February 8, 2010 at 10:10 PM I have these two pistols and would like to know a little about them...practical uses and history maybe? I figures someone here would like to teach me some things. High Standard Supermatic Citation Model 106 Military http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s135/bassbikerdan/HIGHSTANDARD.jpg Colt Automatic Calibre .25 http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s135/bassbikerdan/mms_picture-1.jpg
moparcardave Posted February 8, 2010 at 10:48 PM Posted February 8, 2010 at 10:48 PM When I used to have my ffl in the 70's this High Standard Supermatic Citation was a much sought after 22 target pistol, much like the S&W 41 at the time. I really don't know but I would think $600 could be a bit higher or lower, but not lower by much. The other looks like a Colt Pocket Pistol hammerless and I think 1903 1908 models. There again I don't have a real accurate figure now but guessing again at least $500 on that.Been years since I sold them but don't part with them to cheap.
Birdmang Posted February 8, 2010 at 11:13 PM Author Posted February 8, 2010 at 11:13 PM Do you know if the rear sight on the High Standard is the original one?

Birdmang Posted February 8, 2010 at 11:41 PM Author Posted February 8, 2010 at 11:41 PM Colt Automatic Calibre .25 auto? or semi? i would guess semi myself, just curious I dont really understand your question?
savage3306 Posted February 9, 2010 at 12:05 AM Posted February 9, 2010 at 12:05 AM "Colt Automatic Calibre .25" is the naming correct? but im guessing it fires as semi-auto not auto... cause if it did fire auto that'd be pretty nifty
Birdmang Posted February 9, 2010 at 12:06 AM Author Posted February 9, 2010 at 12:06 AM haha yea its not a fully automatic pistol
abolt243 Posted February 9, 2010 at 01:20 AM Posted February 9, 2010 at 01:20 AM "Colt Automatic Calibre .25" is the naming correct? but im guessing it fires as semi-auto not auto... cause if it did fire auto that'd be pretty nifty Many, Many, Many moons ago, before firearms were demonized, there was no such thing as "semi-auto" in firearm parlance. A "Colt Automatic Calibre .25" was known to mean that the gun was automatically loaded after it was fired. Not that it fired without stopping until the magazine ran dry or the trigger was released. "Machine Guns" were the fully automatic firing guns of the day. There's a HS 106 military Supermatic on GunBroker for $500 +/-. Colt .25's run from $280 - $750.
Yas Posted February 9, 2010 at 01:44 AM Posted February 9, 2010 at 01:44 AM Anything you want to know about High Standards http://www.histandard.info/ Go to the forum and post questions. Pistols made in 3 places Hamden, Hartford, and later Houston texas. The Houston guns are less preferred and some early models had issues.
