Texasgrillchef Posted January 23, 2021 at 10:23 AM Share Posted January 23, 2021 at 10:23 AM I am a non-resident from Texas. I just recently took the Illinois class and applied for my non-resident CCL with Illinois and have started the eternal waiting process. Lol. Within the next 5 years, I will need to take the 3hr refresher course to renew the Illinois CCL. I had to come to Illinois to take the Training. (Not an issue to come to Illinois) I came simply because sadly the only two Illinois CCL instructors in Texas were no longer teaching. (One retired &. The other passed away due to Covid) I am currently an NRA Firearms Instructor, as well as an Instructor for the Texas LTC. FYI... While Illinois CCL instructors are allowed to teach out of state, Texas LTC instructors are not allowed to teach the class outside of Texas. I was thinking of obtaining my Illinois CCL instructor certification/license once I receive my Non-Resident Illinois CCL. Thus I have 3 questions. 1. What does it take to get an Illinois Instructor Certification/License to teach the class, basically how does one get the license/certification. 2. Once I have my Illinois Instructor Certification/license. Will I still need to take the 3 hr class to renew my CCL in 5 years? 3. What &/or how or does one even need to renew their Illinois CCL Instructor certification/license? If so how often? Training needed? Thanks

When you renew your NRA Instructor status send a copy of your NRA Instructor ID here: ISP.Instructor.Docs@illinois.gov
