Ol'Coach Posted July 25, 2008 at 04:32 PM Posted July 25, 2008 at 04:32 PM When I asked for that info under the FIA 2+ yrs ago, I was told it wasn't tracked. One officer told me that it was at one time, but halted somewhere around 1994. Daley first took office in 1989. How difficult could it be? They DO fill out an incident report, right? check the box: FOID? Yes.....no 'course, 1st they gotta catch the shooter!

In some states with LTC laws, initially the law required an annual report to be filed with the state re: crimes committed by LTC holders. After a few years of licensing, that requirement was dropped becsause there were very few if any to report and the expense of the report was deemed to be in excess of the benefit. Maybe I'll think of or stumble onto the source. AB

I did not have one when I returned from the military so I left my pistol at my neighbor's house until my FOID came. Many house holds will have one person with a FOID and the other's don't even bother. Other's will have firearms without a FOID because the FOID Act is a defacto form of registration. Infringe: intrude on, compromise, undermine, limit, weaken, diminish, disrupt, curb, encroach on, trespass on, regulate, restrict. Just more pointless rambling coming from my keyboard.
Kenny Posted August 3, 2008 at 02:54 PM Author Posted August 3, 2008 at 02:54 PM I would like to remind everyone we have a meeting Tue. evening at 5:30 and Pearl Hawks has been invited to explain her side of the issue. She was told to bring anybody that is against CC that she wanted to to speak against the issue & she was told to please bring facts not feelings so we will see if she shows up. We could use about 40 people for this one because the media will be there in full force if they know the anti's are showing up.
Kenny Posted August 4, 2008 at 09:04 PM Author Posted August 4, 2008 at 09:04 PM Bump so people see it & come out tomorow evening.

I'm surprised we haven't seen an update yet, unless it's running long. I learned today that Ogle county is considering putting a concealed carry referendum on the ballot in November!
Chris Posted August 6, 2008 at 02:14 AM Posted August 6, 2008 at 02:14 AM I went along with hodgie, Polhms1, JBomb, Board9, Traken, First Officer Grimes. Pearl and Company did not show but they discussed parts of the legislation. More to come on a Booth at the Winnebago County fair and a meeting at Boone county on monday. Chris Posted August 6, 2008 at 03:59 AM Posted August 6, 2008 at 03:59 AM Ok here's a better update, now that I don't have a burrito in my hand. There was no coverage by the media, possibly one guy from a newspaper. No Pearl and no one against us, no new faces either. The main thing they did was enter on the record some data they received from the Rockford PD. Then they went through the resolution and cut out some parts they didn't like, eg no longer leaving in the part that makes who's a permit holder public record and they were checking into why there was a passage that considered .05 a DUI instead of following Illinois State Law. That's about it, next meeting in two weeks.
Buzzard Posted August 6, 2008 at 04:09 AM Posted August 6, 2008 at 04:09 AM .....they were checking into why there was a passage that considered .05 a DUI instead of following Illinois State Law.That sounds like something from the commercial drivers license (CDL) statute. Someone's trying to over-regulate.

SAK Posted August 13, 2008 at 02:23 AM Posted August 13, 2008 at 02:23 AM I wasn't able to go tonight -- one of the only times I didn't make it I'm planning on being at the fair tomorrow and helping to man the booth and pass stuff out. Hope I'll see some of you there either tomorrow and/or thurs, fri
