Foid Appeal Process Timeframe

Hello so I applied for my foid card and got denied as I knew I would because of a non forcible felony I had from 2008 and I sent in all paperwork need for my appeal in which when I called the said it was received and uploaded 1-16-2025. I was just curious as to how long roughly they take to make a decision and how will I be notified some day I should see the update on the portal from denied to under review but I don’t see it changing . I know the foid review board meets once a month are there specific dates for there meetings?

They met on the 26th of this month. You should hear back from them soon, hopefully. If you’re denied, you have the opportunity to appeal it directly to them via an online meeting. They meet once a month so you’d probably go before them in March. If it was a felony, you might have to first go to a circuit court in your county and have your rights reinstated.

Thank You for you help I havent heard anything so far and yes it was a non forcible felony so i was directed to appeal to the FCRB....Do you know if they meet the same day every month? Or how i can find out when they meet?

I’m not sure if it’s the same day every month. I’d email them and get the ball rolling to start your appeal process. It’s a long process so it’s best to start now and buckle up for the long ride ahead. They’ll be able to provide all of the details you need.
