  1. Hello all! Long time lurker first time poster. I do my best to stay fairly up-to-date with the current firearm and gun control shenanigans. I recall ISP getting caught, trying to track ammunition purchases, and then the great folks within this form as well as Molly’s working together calling them out for their ridiculousness. But, I digress. I was in my local bass pro this evening and noticed that they the ammunition section blocked off and posted signs which I’ve attached in this post. I was under the impression that ammunition tracking was not happening, other than for 50 BMG. I could be mistaken. I’m unsure if Im overthinking things. But, the signs are clearly inconsistent as far as the language used in each. (validation vs verification) Could someone please shed some light on what’s going on with this? Thank you
  2. Original Thread by McCroskey can be found at this location. The original thread is closed and is continued here. The retailers below are confirmed or have been reported to me as willing to ship ammunition directly to addresses within the City of Chicago (zip code beginning with 606##). Feel free to post any retailers who have shipped or willing to ship ammunition to addresses within the City of Chicago (zip code 606##). I'll continue to update the list below with the most current retailers mentioned. At the bottom of this post, I have also included legal rebuttal to typical reply's from vendors that give reasons for not shipping to Chicago. If you encounter any problems, please this bring to my attention. Ammunition Retailers Who Will Ship (alphabetical order) AE Ammo AmmoMart AmmoShopOnline Ammo Supply Warehouse AmmunitionStore Anacortes Gun Shop AngelFire Ammo Atlanta Arms Bone Frog Gun Club Boss Shotshells Brownell's (some people now report successfully ordering ammo, Brownell's have been flaky about this in the past) Bud's Gun Shop Buffalo Arms Buffalo Bore Cajun Ammo (changed to Gear Fire) Canoe Club USA Chestnut Ridge (rifle ammo has been successful, need someone to try handgun ammo) Civilian Marksmanship Program eStore Click Click Boom Boom (good for shotshells) Defender Ammunition De Leon Pharmacy and Sporting Goods Dynaguns Everglades Ammo ExoticAmmo (a good source for unusual ammo, like less-then-lethal shotgun rounds, net rounds, tracers, etc.) Firearms Depot Gad Custom Cartridges (good source for obsolete calibers) (check BBB before purchasing) Great Lakes Ammunition Gun Powder Nation Gunzone Deals KIR Ammo Lanbo's Armory LG Outdoors Madison Guns Mass Ammo Military Shooters Norma Old Western Scrounger Patriots Ammo & Arms (see this post before purchasing) Red River Reloading Rogers Sporting Goods Selway Armory Shaw Armament Systems Simmons Sporting Goods Super Vel Ammunition SWFA Outdoors TargetSportsUSA The Battlefield Armory Top Gun Supply True Shot Gun Club Underwood Ammo Wekickbrass White Birch Armory Wild Horse Ammunition Lost Causes The following online sellers should be considered "lost causes", either due to their ongoing refusal to ship to Chicago, or their inconsistency in shipping to Chicago for some people versus refusing to do so for others. Please note that the below vendors have been contacted multiple times already and doing so again is unlikely to achieve anything positive. 2ammo (ships to FFL) Able Ammo (ships to FFL) AIM Surplus Alamoammo.com Ammo Freedom Ammo.com AmmoFast Ammunition Depot Ammunition Fairy Ammunitiontogo.com Beebe Family Arms & Munitions (shopbfam.com, ships to FFL) Buckinghorseoutpost.com Bulkammo Bereli (ships to FFL) Carolina Munitions (20230126 - BBB) Cheaper Than Dirt Civilian Arms (ships to FFL) Clark Armory Field Supply (ships to FFL) Flip Ammo Freedom Munitions Global Ordnance Gman Sporting Arms (ships to FFL) GrabAGun Graf & Sons Gun Run International Gunbuyer.com Impact Guns keendynamics.com J&G Sales (ships to FFL) Lowest Ammo Lucky Gunner Mack's Prairie Wings (ships to FFL) Midway USA MMI Ammo Natchez Shooters Supplies Optics Planet (shipping integrity issues, see post on June 14, 2022 at 02:08 PM, and June 21, 2022 at 07:09 PM) Outdoorlimited.com Palmetto State Armory Powder Valley Recoil Gunworks Saint Barb's Bullets Scheels Sharkcoasttactical.com SGAmmo Skogen's Gun Supply Southern Munitions Sportsman's Guide Sportsman's Warehouse Steel City Ammunition Surplus Ammo Tactical Surplus USA Tactical Defense Solutions TNTMunitions Trigger Depot Trop Gun Youngblood Tactical Weaponspro Legal References Thread References: https://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?/topic/79597-online-ammunition-sellers-who-will-ship-to-chicago/&do=findComment&comment=1353854 https://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?/topic/79597-online-ammunition-sellers-who-will-ship-to-chicago/&do=findComment&comment=1377434 ======================================================== References to statute 430 ILCS 65/13.1 [https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/documents/043000650K13.1.htm], with the new Public Act 102-538 [https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/publicacts/fulltext.asp?Name=102-0538] is effective August 20, 2021. This references the possession and transportation of ammunition by a holder of a valid FOID card. This is a requirement by ammunition sellers that buyers will have to provide proof of a valid FOID. In the past, Chicago Ordinance O2013-6015 [https://chicago.councilmatic.org/legislation/o2013-6015] references Chicago Municipal Code 8-20-100(b) which read “No ammunition may be sold or otherwise transferred within the city, except through a licensed weapons dealer, or as otherwise allowed by this code.” Currently, the Chicago Municipal Code 8-20-100 has been amended and no longer contains this language [https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/chicago/latest/chicago_il/0-0-0-2644532]. This was amended by Chicago Ordinance O2014-4271 on June 25, 2014, it removed the restriction to purchase ammunition within Municipal Code 8-20-100.
