    I am looking for a place to do banking business in the burbs around Hoffman Estates.  I have an account at Chase Bank. I know that as a corporation they are actively anti 2A. I wish to no longer give them my business. Does anyone know of a bank or credit union that some respect for constitutionally protected civil rights?

    I don’t know about their corporate policy but the branch in Mundelein is not posted.

    Don't enter any personal information in a Windows 7 rig - there are more security holes in that than Swiss cheese - just an fyi

    Advice and suggestions appreciated.

    My FOID expires 8/1/21 and, if I understand it correctly, I am now in that "90 day window" to renew.

    This card has lasted for 10 years and the last time I renewed was with a paper app and "snail mail". As a result, I have NO idea of what and how to do this.

    My computer skills used to be pretty good but I am still using a Windows 7 OS with "Office 2000", soooo - - - . :no: :frantics:

    No choice. It's the only computer I have and no "mobile" device either.

    My advice is, if you don’t have anyone with a updated computer is to go your local gun shop, most of them are doing applications.

  3. So...

    FOID Renewal went Active: February 4, 2020

    I have USPS Informed Delivery and it shows arriving today (Feb 8, 2020). Yep, guess what was NOT in the mailbox; I checked the Informed Delivery box "I did not receive this mailpiece.". Hopefully, it was misdirected to a neighbor, and they will get it to me. Unbelievable!!!!

    I’ve had the same thing happen several times, I checked the box and it always came the next day.

    While you have 60 days to apply after moving here, new, non renewal FOID cards are supposed to be processed in 30 days while renewals are 60 business days. You should be able to take the CCL classes now. IIRC, FOID card is not required except perhaps by instructor policy. I thought I recall the ability to apply for both at the same time but dont know anyone who has done so.

    what is IIRC?

    ”If I remember correctly “

    I just received my FOID card after appealing the denial. Feeling Awesome right now!

    Now go buy some guns...ammo...magazines...etc...

    Whenever the state starts screwing us over..I 'buy more'.

    Do I 'need' what I buy when the state gets stoopid? Nope..but when I buy something they 'wish' to say 'I can't have'...It puts a smile on my face.....

    Congrats!!! Now, what he said^^^^^^.

  6. Mine came in yesterday. I had family in town visiting from Canada, but they live out in the country there and are very pro-gun so they were able to be happy for me. Carried out to dinner and the rest of the evening for the first time and felt guilty for having waited so long to get around to doing the CCL paperwork afterwards.

    Congrats, and today you are doing your Wally Walk, right? ;)

    OK, how do we get past the federal exception certification

    Buy from a dealer in Illinois. The Fed regulations only apply to interstate commerce and US Territories (Guam, DC, etc).

    Or buy from one of the many online dealers who don't require paperwork (I don't endorse this option, but it exists).

    Just placed a order with Adams International in Edwardsville, talked to a nice lady named Crystal.

    I tried to order a knife from Blade HQ and it wouldn't ship it to me because of Federal laws:

    You cannot submit your order unless you select an exception below
    *1. This item is restricted
    Auto law & Legal Status Terms IN COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL STATUTES:
    U.S. Federal law prohibits shipment of automatic knives across state lines, with the following exceptions:
    (1) to civilian or Armed Forces supply or procurement officers and employees of the Federal Government ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of the Federal Government;
    (2) to supply or procurement officers of the National Guard, the Air National guard, or militia of a state, territory or the District of Columbia ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in the connection with the activities of such organization;
    (3) to supply or procurement officers or employees of the municipal government of the District of Columbia or the government of any State or Territory, or any county, city or other political subdivision of a State or Territory;
    (4) to manufacturers of such knives or bona fide dealers therein in connection with any shipment made pursuant of an order from any person designated in paragraphs (1), (2), and (3).
    I do not meet any of the criteria above.

    I tried to order a Kershaw Launch 4 from them and ran into the above.
