That was well covered. I don't see how they can argue that he used "snuff" as expose when he clearly says "we will find you and snuff you out." It is a stretch to read that as "we will find you and expose you out."
I really wish they would have commented more on the poor reporting of the event given all the media reps there, but I suppose they can't embarrass their fox affiliate that was there and did not report it.
Thanks for the report--I don't watch enough TV to bother with cable (even though I have cable internet), so I didn't see it.
Posted this in the Back Room before I saw this post. It may sound like a crazy idea but I still think it's worth a try.
In addition to his alleged rhetorical fumble, I'm almost more interested to see if anyone in authority is going to have issue with his tax-exempt status. He's been flaunting his political and legislative involvement for years.
As an aside, I consider myself to be reasonably well-educated, and I've never before heard the word "snuff" used to mean "expose".
I'm kind of curious about that myself but on another note I think we caught a little break with this. I just watched part of a segment on Hannity and Colmes on Fox news on the Rev. Jackson and Plleger's demonstration. They had a guy on who said he was a lawyer representing Mr. Riggio and he made some rather interesting points regarding a plan of action. I think it might be a good idea to let Mr. Hannity know by way of his website how the gun owners here in Illinois feel. I checked the site and the contact us link and the forums link look promising for getting our views out. Maybe if he gets enough email on the subject and the crap going on here we could get a little bit of media exposure. I plan to use their "fair and balanced" advertising in a polite request that they give IllinoisCarry and the other sites a chance to present our side of the CCW issue as well as the good rev's obvious violations of Federal laws. I know it's a long shot but it's a heck of a lot better chance than we'll ever get from the media in Illinois, especially Crook Co and I think a couple of hundred well reasoned emails might be enough to get someone's attention.
