Maybe this is in the wrong place. Moderator, move if needed.
As grandma always said, "will wonders never cease."
Yes, how appropriate. Thanks for pointing that out. I would never have noticed on my own.
Thank you for this notice. I can't make it, but I sure hope there is a good turnout from our side. Good luck.
I was in one of my LGS's this past Saturday, and a customer was inquiring about purchasing hi-cap mags. Both the customer and the LGS were plaintiffs in one of DeVores cases. The LGS declined to sell, and explained that upon advice of their attorney, they should just wait awhile and see how this works out. I'm not going to second guess them, but wonder why they spent the money to get a tro if they weren't going to use it.
Some interesting reading in this article. I hope it hasn't been previously posted.
“Because the ban is so all encompassing and uses a great many vague terms that I’m not even sure that exactly what is banned and that’s probably why judge McGlynn ordered the state to do that so that we could find out what exactly we are arguing about,”
Supporting your local LGS is logically the right place to make your purchases.
Thank you, MrTriple, thats just the sort of informed opinion I was hoping for.
DeVore case three registration is closed. I suppose some one here will keep us informed when case four registration opens up. I'll probably get on board that one.
But still, I can't help but be curious how long this is going to take for the rest of the citizens of this state to get relief from this nonsense.
If we don't get a full injunction, how will this take to work its way through the courts? My guess is 3 to 5 years, and I am basing that guess on the law suit over the FOID law. I am interested in the opinions of you who follow this sort of issue in other states as well.

This is true. I have a friend who owns guns but works for a crazy liberal establishment.
He is scared to death that someone will see him at the range or at a gun store or he'll get on a list, the list will get shared to people who know him, and then they'll try to get him fired. Which he is correct, they would attempt to fire him.
He won't fill out any witness slips or make any calls or join any organizations.
I used to call him paranoid, but it was confirmed that the parents that went to school board meetings to protest CRT ended up on an FBI list as terrorists.
Yes, but some would say he lacks courage. I think I recall something about some old long haired white dudes who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor, and most of them lost it all but their honor.
With all due respect, can we keep this discussion on track, which is assault weapons ban litigation. There are other forums to talk about recent firearms coming on the market.
I'm gonna bet that if we don't get an injunction this is going to be in the courts for at least three years before we see the end of it. And I'm not confidant the the final outcome is going to be in our favor. A lot of good people can be harmed it that amount of time. Who wants to take my bet?

Very good, in my opinion.
I respect your opinion on the topic and find your comment encouraging. We need some encouragement in these times.

Good job on not having location data on your picture. Lot of people use their phones for cameras and don't know to disable location data before taking pictures (allowing bad guys to know where to find whatever they posted).
Hmmmm... I never considered that. Who'd a thunk?

Can probably add Rock Island County to the list:
Unless I misunderstood your post, that's just another sheriff who is trying to walk the fence just like Tazwell Co. Sheriff. No where did he say he would not enforce an unconstitutional law.

Have any AWBs enacted been thrown out or are they still in effect on appeal or been rewritten and replaced?
Thank you for that question. I am wondering the same thing myself, and while we are asking questions. What are the chances of getting an injunction to stop this until the courts have their say on the matter?
What are our chances of getting an injunction to stop the implementation of this mess?

I’m trying to not be blackpilled on this because we’ve seen some extremely favorable outcomes for 2a in the past 12 months. My money is on a lower circuit smacking this down, I doubt it will have to reach SCOTUS.
I agree, but they will be back just like New York state has come back with even worse legislation.

Can you elaborate?
I know one thing. I suggest not discussing anyone's plans on a forum, like this, whatever they are.
A word to the wise is sufficient.
Lie to me and tell me everything is going to be alright. Go ahead, lie to me.
I have sent you a personal message with the info. you requested.
It's been quite some time since I have done a 3 hour renewal, and I cannot find the 3 hour form on the ISP web site. Can someone direct me to the correct place on their website? Thanks in advance
Okay, this thread is getting some age to it, but rather than start a new one, I'll continue to ask my question here.
I have renewed my instructor credentials, but of the 3 emails I received back from the NRA confirming this, there was nothing that I could/would send to the Il. state to prove my renewed certification. Any help would be appreciated as to what to do next. Other than a confirmation of my log in ID, this is all I received back. I did get my wallet card showing my credentials, but that's all.

NRA Certified Instructors
NRA Education and Training is in the process of updating old lesson plans. This started with the creation of NRA CCW and now includes Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and RSO Lesson Plans. The new lesson plans are in the PowerPoint (PPT) format with the Lesson Plan embedded in the “notes” section.
Because of a recent E&T survey, the new lesson plans will be available in both printed format, via the Program Materials Center or for free download on NRAI. As a result, Pistol and Shotgun lesson plans that have not been available in hard-copy, will be in the very near future.
You may use your existing stock of old Lesson Plans. On depletion of current stock it is required to switch to the new format. New lesson plans will no longer contain a CD. The replacement for the CD, if you choose to purchase hard copies of the lesson plans, is the download function in your NRAI portal.
The use of the most current PowerPoint presentation in conjunction with the new lesson plans will ensure the most effective learning experience for the end user. We appreciate your patience as we continue to make NRA training better for you our most valuable customer, and your students.
Train hard and stay safe,
NRA Education and Training
