It's really great that this is happening. It's a really good idea and would be a fun thing to have a gun club like this. For gun rights purposes, I can't overstate the value of getting more minorities into shooting and gun rights too! This was a club founded in Illinois and was well-known as a gun club with all racial backgrounds. The 10th Cav is a national organization that is in one or two other states as well. More info from that thread: RWBAZILLION Because of the recent referendum that was on the ballot in cook county, it has motivated me to restart the tenth calvary gun club. I had started this club in 2004 but I was deployed before it could get off of the ground. The club is not just a black gun club. It is open to all members which I encourage and yes I do want more African Americans to join up, but it is open to everyone. The minimum due would be $75/year. 3) The club will be a place for gun owners to get together and shoot together. 4) The club with it's members can be used for training of people in the proper usage of firearms. Currently I am in process of becoming an NRA instructor and I encourage future members to get their certificate. 5) The club is a place to allow for education on the law and to provide lawyers if need be. Similar to SAK's Icarry website. 6) The club will have a PO Box.
