Exactly how many times has the FOID been 'fixed'?

Enough times that we still have a FOID and will continue to as long as "good enough" is good enough.

I do not support it until we get some amendments to clear up the vague language on several topics. I currently stand neutral. I won't file a witness slip in opposition.

I'm opposed. We can do better. What happened to all the talk about us having a good position? This is what we're doing with it? Unacceptable

I stand with Todd, Molly and Phelps for their continued efforts for the people of this state. They went to battle for us and we need to stand with them without waver.

I am neutral on the bill in all honesty i knew we would never get a good bill so i never got my hopes up for one. One thing i would like to know more about (with out alerting the anti's) is the whole AWB thing and what that will do to the rest of Illinois in the future.

Need a 'neutral' option. :)

I was opposed, after giving it some thought and calming down some, I'm now neutral on it, There's a lot wrong with it, but a few big things that are really good.

Carve out Chicago & Cook County and get us Original 997!!

The carve out will quickly be found Unconstitutional!

Just call Madigan up and ask. I'm sure he'll oblige. /sarc

Folks, I'm in this fight until every state has true Constitutional Carry. This is just a stepping stone on the way. In it to win it.

I haven't yet weighed in on this issue, but given everyone else seems to be (here and in other threads) ... I personally support this bill. It was offered by those who are in the trenches, those people who want to have the strongest bill possible that will pass a super-majority and be veto-proof. Those of you who would let the perfect be the enemy of the good ... well, it seems that you think you live in Arizona, or Kentucky. Sorry, but you don't.

Moreover ... in the big picture, that statewide preemption of firearm laws is probably as or more significant than the carry provision itself.

Finally, sometimes it is useful to reflect on what the gun controllers think on these matters. They are strongly opposed to the bill, which says significant things about the bill.

Anyway, I suspect some of the pro-gun rights people who are the most vocally opposed may also be among the least active in the concealed carry movement, and/or have relatively little understanding of the reality of Illinois politics. Some of the comments I have read just scream "backseat driver" to me.

Just my two cents.

I'm with GF.

It's not perfect but it's better than what we have now.

It's a good first step.

We would do well to remember that Phelps is a democrat, in ILLINOIS. He and anyone who sails under that flag well be ultimately beholden to the machine. As much as I appreciate what he originally tried to do, he's playing the game like they all do. You don't tangle with the devil and make him good, the devil will always drag you down to the pit.

This bill is a pile of crap. You can't carry pretty much anywhere and making it possible to be denied for just arrests and not convictions is unconstitutional.

Don't hold back, tell us all, again, how you really feel. Haha

I have seen life time criminals found GUILTY but if they are nice kiddies while on probation their GUILTY conviction will be expunged.

One in particular had 4 pages of being arrested for and not one guilty showing. Yes I was the one that stopped him from using a stolen CC. By the time the case was complete 1 year had passed. The judge set the probation time from his arrest a year ago for 6 months. He left court with another arrested for and 0 conviction showing.

Next time he goes into court he can wave 5 pages and say see how the cops pick on me? 5 pages of arrests and not one conviction.

Do you REALLY want this scum bag being equal to you?
