Yet another may-issue challenge petitioned for US Supreme Court review. Docket

The petition was filed in September.

The question presented is:

Whether the Second Amendment allows the government to prohibit typical, law-abiding citizens from carrying handguns outside the home for self-defense in any manner.

Pallozzi, the MD state police director, waived his right to respond. The SC requested a response Oct 18 (due Nov 18), anyway.

The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants, and it provides the further advantage of giving the servants of tyranny a good conscience.

Will this be the one? At some point, SCOTUS has to clean up the circuit split. IMO, only question is "when will they finally grant certiorari?"...
