Johnnybgood Posted June 1, 2021 at 11:32 PM Share Posted June 1, 2021 at 11:32 PM I believe I already know the answer but have to ask. We are moving to Idaho. It will be our state of residence. We will still have our house here in Illinois. Do we lose our ability to carry? Thanks.

InterestedBystander Posted June 2, 2021 at 01:18 AM Share Posted June 2, 2021 at 01:18 AM Lost if home residence becomes Idaho. You apply for a non resident Idaho license, pay new fees, and probably have to take course and get new cert but unsure about that.
soundguy Posted June 2, 2021 at 01:57 AM Share Posted June 2, 2021 at 01:57 AM It seems that an Illinois license is good in Idaho. It’s possible you could live in Idaho as an Illinois resident and keep your Illinois CCL, DL and pay Illinois taxes. I have a Texas buddy who did this after buying a home in Illinois to save money on auto insurance. He’s in Wisconsin now.

Interesting that you can lose a right. You will probably have more rights in your mew state. like not needing a novelty plastic card issued by the state to execute a right.
