I will caution you that IF the ISP did what is required of them and reported your card to the NICS database as a prohibited person their is no relief available. The ISP cannot remove you from the federal list and the feds are not hearing relief cases. There has been a lot of debate as to whether the ISP is submitting the report or not for the MMJ and caretaker cards. There have been people with active MMJ cards that purchased a firearm from a dealer with no issues. They were not aware of the prohibition when they purchased it. There have also been some that have not had an active card for over 12 months and were denied. I honestly think it is roulette at this point. Take this for what it cost you...
