Northbrook and Highland Park

I'm from the St Louis Metro East area and will be traveling to Northbrook on Thursday for one night. I have my CCL and FOID. Is there any issue with the 15rd mags for my Glock 19? I searched the old threads, and it looks like I should be OK because of state preemption. Just wondering how CCL holders from Chicago handle this. Thanks

I have 10 rd mags for all my carry guns for going into certain areas with the laws.

I SHOULD be okay in them with normal over 10 mags, because of the CCA.

I BELIEVE I would win in court IF arrested for having over 10 rd mags.

But, I also KNOW I don't want to go through the expense of fighting above, the loss of my guns during that time, the suspension of my FOID and CCL, and the time and pain of reversing that.

Call me weak or uncommitted. Whatever.

When I go into those areas, or know I will pass through them, I switch to 10 rd mags, and carry an extra 2 instead of one.

This Section is a denial and limitation of home rule powers and functions under subsection (h) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution.

I read way too much in this forum but then I do like me some guns.

So.....the question in almost all of the what if Q n As is what are you doing to get arrested so much?

Why in the magical world of law enforcement would a PO grab you out of a crowd and ask to see your carry?

And just how many of our members here have been sliced out of that huge pie of people walking around and been asked to show your 10 round mag?

Its the knife question

Its the laser question

Its the drug question

Its the are you driving without INS question

Its like some are walking around with protest posters held high above their heads saying hey over here Ive got 15 rounds!

Obeying the law is not doing something illegal and getting away with it. If you accidentally drop a full-auto Glock in the woods and a cop isn't there to hear it, does it make a sound?

The issue is what the boundary is between legal and illegal, even if cops think something legal is illegal, because state preemption isn't preemptive enough to avoid all confusion.
