I am hosting a USCCA Defensive Shooting Fundamentals course January 19th at the ISRA Range in Bonfield Illinois.

More info

Class Description
This class emphasizes the concept of counter ambush training and how you can be best prepared to understand what your body will experience, the skills you need to develop and the principles of balancing speed and precision. Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Level 1 is ideal for a both novice (but safe) shooters as well as experienced shooters who want to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes of safe and effective self-defense with a firearm.
Curriculum Description
Defensive Shooting Fundamentals will guide you through the steps you'll need to take to go from just sending rounds downrange to actually training in specific, tested methods of armed self-defense. From stance to grip to physical shooting technique, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Level 1 will help you hone the edge on your inner warrior expert. You'll get your body working with your gun instead of against it, you'll learn which intuitive skills work best with what your body will naturally do while under stress in a combat situation, and you'll learn to apply this information simply and effectively - regardless of your skill level.

Holster draw, shooting on the move. rapid fire, and more topics will be covered at DSF1.

See ya there!

Major mistake on the title of this thread. It is JULY 19th, 2020. I am unable to edit.

I always say I should proof read. One day I will take my advice.

I’m interested in taking this course but was curious if anybody else here has experience with this course and/or vendor. Thanks.

Hey Squints, these are both valid questions. I'm sure you are familiar with the United States Concealed Carry Association . If not, they are one of the largest self defense "insurance" carriers in the nation. You can learn more about then at https://www.alphakoncepts.com/uscca However the USCCA is also the fastest growing firearm training organization in the nation as well.

The Defensive Shooting Fundamentals (DSF) Program is based off of the Combat Focus Shooting program from I.C.E. Training and globally renowned firearm instructor, Rob Pincus. The DSF program is similar to many other defensive handgun programs but there are some differences. Those differences being focusing on what is instinctive and intuitive, or in other words what the body does naturally in a high stress situation.

My name is Thomas Kral. I am the chief firearm instructor for Alpha Koncepts Firearm Training and have been training since since 2013. I also founded GunRights4Illinois in 2014. I have been a member of Illinois Carry since 2012. I have numerous instructor credentials, which I shall include at the end of this posting. I became DSF certified in 2019. However I have been hosting my own Defensive Pistol class for the last several years, and indeed numerous forum members did take that class. These two classes are similar, but I'll admit DSF has more science behind it. More "Why" we do what we do. Also unlike my Defensive Pistol class, DSF1 doesn't get into some of the one handed drills or unorthodox positions. Those techniques come in DSF2.

Here is a link to an advert for one of my Defensive Pistol classes in June 19. And another advert in February 2019 and another from January 18 on this forum.

I encourage you to check out my reviews, http://www.alphakoncepts.com/reviews/ or the reviews on my facebook page (Please note the only negative reviews I have received were from non-customers) https://www.facebook.com/pg/alphakoncepts/reviews/ also note you will see Defensive Pistol reviews on the facebook page. You may also check out my reviews on my USCCA bio, however these reviews are for concealed carry classes only, at this time.

As promised, my credentials...

  • Illinois Concealed Carry Instructor
  • USCCA Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Instructor
  • USCCA Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals Instructor
  • National Rifle Association Personal Protection in the Home Instructor
  • National Rifle Association Basic Pistol Instructor
  • National Rifle Association Range Safety Officer
  • American Gunsmith Association, certified Practical Gunsmith
  • Ultimate Training Munitions NRA Instructor
  • Next Level Training Affiliate Instructor
  • Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network Affiliate Instructor

I have been to a CFS class and have taken classes with Thomas it is solid material. Thomas is a good instructor and you should be happy with the course.

I appreciate that very much! Thank you.

USCCA and AlphaKoncepts may be the vendors for administrative purposes, but it's Rob Pincus' class. I have no experience with Pincus.

Correct, Pincus is the developer of the curriculum.
