Best Ranges?

Hi!

 

I was Just wondering where everyone’s favorite shooting ranges are? I’m looking for a new spot to go shooting and was hoping to hear if there’s anywhere in particular I should check out first.

Anywhere in Cook County or within the City limits of Chicago.  No Range Fees and there are targets everywhere.  Rifle Ranges are optional!

About what area are you in? That would help everyone make better suggestions.

 

Buffalo range near Starved Rock is one of my favorites.  Most of the indoor ranges near Chicago tend to be very uptight probably because they deal with a lot of uninformed people.

What part of the state are you in?

 

My favorite range ever is at Lake Yellowstone in WI. It's free to all and has camping in the nearby state park. Unfortunately it's in the middle of nowhere and quite a hike from Chicago.

My favorite range is my side yard! Got a good set up, plenty of targets stands, open 4/7/365, neighbors only get upset if they ain't invited. Only down side is owner can be a butt! 😇🥸🤬

 

I got 84 acres in extreme Southern Illinois so-------------------------------

I’m in the Western Suburbs but it’s hard to say no to an excuse to go to Wisconsin, I’ll have to check that out!

Exactly, never been a fan of the indoor ranges. So Buffalo Range definitely is more in line with what I was hoping to find, thank you!

Nobody likes a braggart. Gives us your address and a couple hundred of us will be there next weekend. We will bring our own guns and ammo. You can supply the beer and burgers for when the shooting is done. 😄

Beloit rifle club is private but very nice. In door range with multiple outdoor ranges including a large cowboy setup.

I'm a fan of 2nd Amendment Sports in McHenry and any of the Range USA facilities. Clean and well maintained ranges. Great rental selections too.
