UPDATE(S):

House Amendment 2 was filed on HB4471 Crim Cd - Convertible Pistols.

Amends the bill as amended by House Amendment No. 1. Deletes a provision that the Responsible Gun Manufacturing Act does not apply to or affect the receipt of a convertible pistol by a person who is retired in good standing from service with a law enforcement agency of the State or a unit of local government in the State and is not otherwise prohibited from receiving a convertible pistol if certain conditions are met. Replaces that provision with a provision that states that the Act does not apply to or affect qualified law enforcement officers and qualified retired law enforcement officers, as defined in the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004, and as recognized under Illinois law. Deletes the amendatory changes to the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act.

I'd like to see how this carve out would survive legal scrutiny.  Are they really going to cite law enforcement training as to why they'd still get to purchase striker fired guns while everyone else doesn't?

I bet not a single officer trains to shoot a full-auto glock handgun.

You know they did the same with PICA?

LE, even prison guards and wardens were allowed to posses special scary rifles because they had "training" that the rest of the plebs/peasants can't access.
Devore was trying to point that out, but Caulkins decided not to wait and press ahead and look where we are at.
So there's that bit O' history...

Yep, and I'm aware Caulkins was stupid.

Was he stupid or bought?

Caulkins was always a loyal 2A supporter.  He took an approach on his lawsuit some disagree with, but his motives were never in question.
