Capt_Destro Posted March 26, 2026 at 01:35 PM Posted March 26, 2026 at 01:35 PM (edited) Pulled it out of my wallet today, and found that the plastic delaminated. There are currently 2 cards now, one being a front and a back... Some shops say it isnt valid if taped/glued/laminated which is freaking stupid. Yet using my "E-Card" is fine This was not put through the washer or abused in any way. It shared the same wallet pocket as my Illinois Driver's License which is in very good shape and does not exhibit any similar issues. I have been unable to get through the phone switchboard. If I email I get sent a FAQ, no reply from an actual person for over a week. Do they seriously expect me to pay $75 because ISP went with the lowest bidder on card stock!? Kinda annoyed with how bad this program is run despite the ridiculous application fees we pay. Shot in the dark here. Anyone have a connection or contact with an actual ISP employee who could assist? I had an issue, and my State Rep. was able to connect me with someone in the ISP.
Euler Posted March 26, 2026 at 08:52 PM Posted March 26, 2026 at 08:52 PM A defect in materials or workmanship sounds like an implied warranty claim. It's not like it was lost or stolen.
stigz Posted March 26, 2026 at 09:19 PM Posted March 26, 2026 at 09:19 PM I was sent a bad card. I could not get anyone from the isp to even talk to me about it. Now it's just a joke at any store or range I go to. Laughing at Illinois, not with illinois.
Capt_Destro Posted April 7, 2026 at 04:19 PM Author Posted April 7, 2026 at 04:19 PM Still no luck. This state is a f-ing joke honestly. Emails aren't replied to after several weeks/follow ups. My State Rep is Anti-2A. So I doubt they would urinate on me if I were on fire. 😅

Honestly I just repaired the damn thing myself, and you can't even tell it happened. I doubt anyone is even going to notice.
Jeffrey Posted April 7, 2026 at 05:17 PM Posted April 7, 2026 at 05:17 PM super glue and a heavy book over night.
3ddiver Posted April 9, 2026 at 04:39 PM Posted April 9, 2026 at 04:39 PM My wifes card is doing this as are several of our students. Yes, it can be easily fixed but it shouldn't have to be.
