rmart Posted March 16, 2026 at 05:37 PM Posted March 16, 2026 at 05:37 PM I have a new to me Springfield Ronin in 10mm and want to upgrade the GI style guide rod and spring to a full-length guide rod and new recoil springs. Problem is all the guide rods I see offered specifically indicate they're for .45 or 9mm applications but say nothing about 10mm. Would a standard full length guide rod for a .45 and 20-22# springs work in the 10mm?
John Q Public Posted March 16, 2026 at 07:04 PM Posted March 16, 2026 at 07:04 PM (edited) Just call Springfield and talk to the guys 800-680-6822. In my racr guns, I always used heavy azz rods to help with recoil. Tungsten, but this is a specific use type thing. It all depends of the sport/use. Good luck... BTW the closest spring guide rod would be a .40 i JQ Edited March 16, 2026 at 07:09 PM by John Q Public
rmart Posted March 16, 2026 at 10:14 PM Author Posted March 16, 2026 at 10:14 PM hmmm I went to the website and it says their custom gun work service is discontinued. I know I was speaking with a customer service rep a couple weeks ago asking about having a slide milled for their AOS system and they said they don't do any custom work any more. I'll call and see if they have any recommendations.
Yeti Posted March 16, 2026 at 10:49 PM Posted March 16, 2026 at 10:49 PM If that doesn’t work call Brownells and ask to speak to a gun tech. Brownells sells multiple guide rods for 1911s and if they don’t sell what you need they’ll usually refer you to a shop who might. (800)741-0015
