Quote

Today, the Justice Department sued the District of Columbia’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), alleging that the District government and MPD unconstitutionally ban the AR-15 and many other firearms protected under the Second Amendment. The District’s gun laws require anyone seeking to own a gun to register it with D.C. Metro Police. However, the D.C. Code provides a broad registration ban on numerous firearms — an unconstitutional incursion into the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens seeking to own protected firearms for lawful purposes. MPD’s current pattern and practice of refusing to register protected firearms is forcing residents to sue to protect their rights and to risk facing wrongful arrest for lawfully possessing protected firearms.

A quick scan of the lawsuit document and a read of the quote in the article seems to suggest that the sought for resolution would be to allow the registration of these currently unregisterable firearms.
That's no solution...

It's the same 'start' we got with the FOID.

The minute we say it's OK we give them ammunition to say 'well you had no problem with it before, why now?'

All gun registration is an infringement as are all other laws that discourage, prevent, or make prohibitively expensive the ability to keep and bear arms.

Duh. You can't just tear it all down at once with the way our legal system works. That's why I've moved over to the not one more inch camp.

Well, at the rate we're going perhaps my grandkids (not yet born) might, perhaps, maybe, possibly see some relief.
I want to see dramatic, earth-shaking corrections taking place, I'm sick of these little one step forward, two steps back victories.

I want to see vindication in my lifetime. I'm tired.

I don't care what all the legal "experts" like Mark Smith say......There NEEDS to be some 1983 deprivation of rights cases against some selected officials and their co-conspirators on the bench NOW.

Until these communists FEAR CONSEQUENCES then nothing will change.

You lost me at suing judges because the leftists will use that to greater effect.

I would love to see a lawsuit against jb that seeks damages in the form of exclusive rights to his name and likeness. Good luck running for office after that.

I am talking about the most egregious forms of misconduct where they REFUSE to acknowledge upper court rulings from SCOTUS and intentionally ping pong these cases around to delay them and INTENTIONALLY deprive rights........Remember it took National Guard presence to desegregate schools in the south. Its called The Bill of RIGHTS not the Bill of Privileges.

Andrew Jackson would have already dealt with these runaway communist judges and moved America forward.

No matter where you start on the slippery slope you always end up at the bottom.

Well perhaps we're hoping these judicial usurpers end up on the bottom for once...

Holding someone accountable (justice) is sometimes necessary to show others the folly of stepping onto that slippery slope themselves.

Sometimes good men have to do bad things in order to keep good people safe.

So do you never prosecute street cops when they violate your rights? Or just judges, because the robe magically makes them the holy priests of our statist religion.

We are talking about judges. Judicial branch. Nobody is talking about executive branch other than they'd be the ones prosecuting the judges.
