2026 NRA Board Elections -- Todd Vandermyde

Last year I ran for the NRA Board and came up a bit short. This year I was nominated by my friend and Board members John Richardson. The nominating committee did not see fit to nominate me for the ballot. That leaves me the sole choice of nomination by petition. After discussions with several people encouraging me to run by petition I am going to do so. I need 368 signature by Oct 1. 

 

Due to the NY lawsuit, NRA has come up with a new process. you can do either paper petitions or an online petition. I have elected to forego the paper petitions and focus on the only line version.

Its pretty simple, only takes a minute and you will need your NRA number. 

 

I ran last time to try and help get a handle on helping gunowners in anti-gun blue states and straighten out NRA's litigation tactics. I will try once again.

 

please pass along the link we should be able to generate the signature needed to get on the ballot, then it will be an effort to get the votes needed to win. I don't know if the old cabal is trying to run a slate or not. the Nominating committee nominated 30 people for 25 slots. In order for us to prevail this time it will not be a vote for 25 it will be a bullet ballot with maybe a list of 6-8 names. every vote someone else doesn't get helps put me higher up.

This is a follow up, you may have already signed as I started this a while ago, but was told by certain people they thought I was a sure thing for the nominating committee, but then that didn;t happen so to freshen things up, I put this post out as I couldn't remember if I did before, but wanted to reaffirm my intentions

 

So many may have signed before, I can't speak to those who are getting errors on their membership numbers

the error message said there was already signed an e-petition for this candidate because that's exactly what occurred.

I got the message that I have already signed this petition, however that was for the past election cycle.   Not this current election cycle.   I think there is a problem with this process which is designed to keep you from succeeding.

Many chose to indicate their support for his nomination (including me) at that time by submitting on-line.

 

Todd posted a similar, but new, topic 4 months later, (8 days ago) about the same petition for 2026.

People posted here about getting an error, referring to a duplicate submission.
I verified that I can get that error.

 

It's the same petition, same link, as in May.

The online process is designed to prevent you from nominating the same candidate twice in the same election cycle.

 

You can submit your petition for Todd's nomination, online, without worrying about a problem.

If you get an error about a duplicate, then you already submitted the petition.

I did not use that link from Todd's post in May 2025.   I am worrying that my vote for Todd will not be included in the 2025 nomination cycle.    Has the NRA carried over my first vote for his nomination in the first nomination cycle?   That doesn't seem proper if they have carried my initial vote from the previous nomination cycle.
