We have to do OUR part, 2A has the votes to vote in a Governor that is NOT anti-gun. Yet, we don't.

Did you mean a Governor, some Legislator's, and some Senator's?  Cause a Governor won't be enough.

Why not, Rauner held the line on a budget, vetoed the gun licensing bill, won the Janus decision (which I was against), and opened up school choice. All that without holding a majority in any house in Springfield. Now, if we want something actually done, yes we'll need a half a dozen state reps and state senators just to start. My problem is, why do we give all these FOID Card Holders a FREE pass on voting for the anti-gun candidate. We always b*tch about the judges and politicians not doing their job, but as IL voters, we don't do ours. Unfortunately, we need to get our own back yard in order.

This assumes something very important:  Illinois has elections that are 100% free of corruption.

There's a reason the Illinois political system called the Machine.

IMO, without a SCOTUS that will uphold the Constitution and enforce it's rulings and force lower courts to adhere to their precedents and rulings, there is little that can be done. Illinois is controlled by a Democrat Super Majority and it doesn't look like that will change/can be changed in the foreseeable future.

Did we not go by the Trump mantra, "too big to rig." Rauner beat Quinn, didn't he. If 2A actually came out to vote, we'd have about 200k votes to spare.

And Rauner held the line very well for having no majority. Again, I guess we give anti-gun FOID Card Holder a pass.

Lets note forget the Rino-Farm !!

So you'd prefer an anti-gun Progressive. A Rino is better than that...

is that "200k votes to spare" above the voter fraud threshold of the Machine?

Bruce Rauner won in 2014 and Trump won in 2016 & 2024. It's easier to blame everyone else than to blame US fellow IL FOID Card Holders.

Trump did not win Illannoy in those years.

It is also easier to pretend that Illannoy elections are "clean and secure" and blame the enslaved populace who is routinely "outvoted" by illegals, and the dead.

So, explain Rauner. Dude, I thought US FOID Card Holders would go out and try to make it happen this next governor's election. I guess not.

So I get it.  You believe Illannoy elections are clean as a whistle.

With the most recent "gerrymandering" the dems did to this state, I question whether getting any kind of conservative change made is possible.

Do you recall that there was a push for an independent commission to draw the boundaries, yet the general assembly shot it down because they KNEW it would diminish their stranglehold.

I don't believe that, but Rauner won 2 election cycles ago even with Illinois flawed election process. Trump won all the battle states this past election even though last election was extremely shady. If every FOID Card Holder comes out and votes for the 2nd Amendment, we have 2.4 million votes. Damn dude, William Kirk for Washington Gun Law said if we're going to stay in IL, we better start fighting. I guess you're staying, but you're not fighting. Hoping the black robes will bail us out again.

Gerrymandering does not affect the Governor's race whatsoever. If 2A came out to vote, we get 2.4 million votes. Rauner held the line as I stated above. Waiting for the black robes, got it.

But that gerrymandering helps to insure a dem governor gets his legislation through the legislature.

I live 50 miles south of Chicago. Gerrymandering has me in with voters up to Lake Michigan. My federal rep does not represent me. This does affect the House power. The liberal courts love it in liberal states.

And a 2nd Amendment Governor will give them a big fat VETO. Force the super majority to override it. Rauner did a pretty good job, It seems like everybody won't remember him being Governor.

We need US DoJ to investigate.

I would bet my house that IL Voter Rolls are nowhere near clean !

Didn’t IL Dems just make IL Vote by Mail permanent ?  I wonder why?  (sarcasm)

Swift Indictments, prosecutions, and long prison sentences is what is Really needed in IL !!

More people that are willing to work (ie volunteer) for Election Integrity are really needed in Illinois.

Just an observation - many of the folks I know in Illinois that have FOID cards, including family members, have no idea about PICA or what it means to them. Some have illegal firearms in their possession and have no idea that if PICA gets enforced, they are potential felons. I'd wager that there are many FOID holders State wide that vote on more issues than 2A Rights specifically so we will not likely get a consensus among pro 2A/FOID holders in Illinois. I don't personally think what's wrong with Illinois (and America for that matter) can be/will be fixed. Our Representation and even SCOTUS seems to be "owned and operated" by entities that want America effectively disarmed via unconstitutional infringement upon our Rights.

Add to this that I know quite a few FOID holders who agree with banning ""assault weapons"" in Illinois and in the US - many gun owners are "Fudds" and don't think we need or have a right to semi auto's or high cap magazines. They are fine with me (and you) being deprived of our Rights as long as their plinking guns are not affected. I doubt we can get a consensus on a candidate among FOID holders in Illinois.

I'm going to again point out that this argument assumes that FOID card holders are conservatives.  I'm willing to bet at least 40% of them are democrats or lay somewhere left of center.

What we really need is a candidate like former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke who ran as a democrat, talked like a democrat to the media, but was a conservative.

I do feel the only reason why Rauner won was Quinn's abysmal approval rating at around that election was the lowest among any governor at 25%.  So if anything he made it easy for Rauner to win.

Pritzker's approval rating is hovering around 50/50.  If that stays for next election, I doubt he'll get voted out.

Also remember the AG is only going to be around foreseeable for the next 3.5 years.  Trump will have hit his two term limit. If it goes blue consider this effort gone at the DoJ level.  These types of court cases exceed a presidential term.

I think its higher than that, I have been called out for saying 80% = 1.9 million FOID Card Holders. 900K FOID Card Holders coming from Cook County? Maybe I am talking out of my @ss, but how could people who want switches, 50rd drum mags, AR15s, AK47s, Tek 9s (just had to bring this back from the 90's), etc. will vote for a candidate that is anti-everything that they want from a 2A standpoint. "I'm a Democrat, but I think its bull**** I can't own an AR15." Did you think about that when you voted in the last election...

It explains why they routinely vote against their own interests, and vote in favor of the brand.
